Shouldn't the coaching staff for the baseball team focus more on teaching and training the baseball players verses the condition of the ball field. It seems they focus more on the field than they do on the players. Walton could have a great baseball team if they started focusing on the players instead of the dirt on the field. This could be a championship team but I guess they would rather have a field award. Lets remember that some of these boys are looking for scholarship and they are not going to receive on for the way there field looks.

Today's student-athlete has a list of things they need to work on before they can aven begin to think about their sport(s). While practicing baseball drills and conditioning are part of their practice, I see the work done on our fields as an extension of their training. They work hard on their field in multiple ways. They not only hone their skills, they work as a team and share responsibilities. Our coaches, I am extremely proud to say, are such a huge asset! While teaching and coaching, they guide our youth into becoming responsible adults and wonderful role models for my girls in elementary school. These atudent-athletes are respectful young adults, many are hard workers and are assets to our schools and our community. Taking care of the fields is one way they learn to take pride in their hard work. It is a no-brainer... give any child some responsibility instead of doing all the work for them, they will place greater value in what they are able to accomplish. They are also less likely to damage what they have helped create.
Stop by the fields after school...stop by during the summer. I feel confident you will see Mr Mac or some other coach working on the fields. Our smaller school has a number of reasons to be extremely proud...our fields being one of those reasons. It is a result of hard work...let them enjoy the pat on the back.

Why can't the boys baseball team be working out right now? all the other schools in kentukcy and in ohio are at least lifting weights and hitting in the cage and even having parents take infield with the players. It just sucks that Walton could have this awesome ball team if the coaching staff would take more interest in the game instead of the field or other sports. Come one guys lets make this year great and help these boys learn such a great game of ball. If you would just has some of the parents they would help in the off season. I've heard several of them talking about it. Just think about it coaches!!!!
