Yet another why Illinois, and the US, needs a universal health care system to cover everyone fairly and equitably.

I find it interesting that physicians are the last to get paid. Physicians who spend 4 years in college, 4 years in Medical school, and then 3-7 years in residency. These hard working , selfless individuals with a large school debt get paid less than most of the administrators. Most physicians are forced to write off 25% to 50% of their bills. Hospitals today do not look at the quality of education their physicians receive. Anyone with a license, M.D. or D.O. will do. I have an extrememly intelligent son in college who I have discouraged from going into medicine because of these problems.

they should go after the illegal immigrants who use our hospital emergency room even pregnant illegal immigrant women they use our hospitals to have their babies that alone costs thousands no wonder the cost of care is going up its at our expense beacause of the illegals id suggest that these companies that run these hospital in question should consider this

why not go after the landlords who rent to illegals with stiff fines and for worst cases property seizure it would not be a bad idea it could cut down crime gangs and illegals go hand in hand make illegals know they are not welcome here

Right, it works out really well in england, where the doctors are now under orders to harvest people's organs - WITHOUT CONSENT!!

"Social" anything is for suckers!

You really think you're going to swim through life at the expense of others?

This is outrageous! This not only denies an essential service, health care, but puts a rating on the worth of individuals. You may think, oh sure the person writing this comment is an overweight, diabetic, alcoholic, depressed, drug addict but in fact I am a full time healthcare employee who runs on average 35 miles a week and has a very healthy diet. The fact is, it is disgusting the way the U.S. government is allowing healthcare to be 100% capitalized so that only the wealthy people are able to afford the "luxury" of health. The government slate needs to be wiped clean and brought back to basics...pay politicians a strictly uniform salary so that they are not lobbying for money and only those who want the job for what it is will take it rather than those with other interests and agendas based on the money they are receiving under the table from drug, oil, and other companies. I cannot fathom why people would even want to immigrate to the U.S., at this point I am planning on moving out!

I agree that doctors deserve to be paid well. But currently they are not held to high or transparent standards. We need a ban on secret settlements and we need to open the Practitioner's Data Bank.

We also need to start arresting doctors who alter, rewrite and destroy records.

All of this one-way information is grossly unfair!
