We're supposed to feel bad for these fools? Why isn't that guy working? Why does he have such bad credit? Why did they get tossed from their last place? Why have kids you can't afford? The article indicates that these fools would pay 33% and the "state" pays the rest, NO..it's not the state, I PAY THE REST!!...Nothing but a collection of losers, and The Globe tries to make us feel sorry for them.

Even if they are losers what are these people supposed to do? If they have no families that will help them out and if they cannot afford to pay for housing where do you suggest they go? Tents under highways? Since the private real estate system that we have is unable (for whatever reasons that might be) to come up with cheap private housing we are stuck with a situation where families are housed in these motels for years. The idiotic thing about this is that this is very expensive for the state, it benefits motel owners and it does nothing to solve the issues involved. In fact I do not think that anyone (for many reasons) wants to solve the issue. So we will go on with the state paying hundreds of millions of dollars to lots of shelter providers, social workers who 'help' the homeless and motel owners. A rather stupid situation isn't it? It is what I call the homeless racket! But this situation is not unique to Massachussetts. It is all over the world since housing has become so expensive as a result of its having gained value as a speculative tool.
