TO : Stacey , You should run for public office ! I like your attitude and point of view . I'm tired of the way things are now . The "good old boy" system stinks ! I too vote republican most of the time . I didn't vote for Clinton either time. We need to start at our next election and clean "house" . County Council , House and Senate all need new people that can do what the public wants . Are you interested in being a Rep for us ?

One person not getting justice is not an excuse for this one not getting what he deserves. I do not remember the incident referenced but vaguely. Who can reference the details. Was it really a trooper? This individual is a was of oxygen.

Where is Real World. Outfield Jack and Grand dragon and all those people who constantly post on any crime that is "BOB" as they love to call it?

"WOW" crime seems to be a non issue for them, ironically.

You guys really are racist!

What this man did was horrific and disgusting. What a pig!!!! He deserves to never see daylight EVER AGAIN!

You feel no 'sympathy' toward the family; remorse if what one feels toward someone he has injured in some way; even Ridel admitted he was sorry for what he did and was sad for the family. Hum....

You could not pay me enough to take on the job of a law enforcement officer - city police or trooper or anything in between. One has to be truly committed to serving the public for the pitiful salary and lack of respect shown by those the officer is trying to help. For those who are going to pipe in with the lame line about cops being dishonest - yes, there is dishonesty in EVERY profession known to man, but this does not apply to every law enforcement officer.

Jon Parker was an outstanding individual, and my heartfelt condolences go to his family. What I think should be done to Ridel is not anything that can be printed or stated in this forum.

To all law enforcement officers out there - THANK YOU, AND STAY SAFE!

My friend called to tell me the verdict, and I was happy that justice has been served. His family is right: It won't bring him back. I knew Jonathan when I lived in SC as a teenager, and he was one of the most decent people a person could ever meet. My prayers go out to his family.

Just b/c he chose to be a PO rather than a doctor or whatever doesnt make his life any more important or deserving than anyone else.

If he does it right with the honor that most do it does make his life more important than whatever. Though Nurses and Doctors are important also. Let me guess your a whatever and never put you time, economic well being or life on the line for your community, country or whatever. Yeah Cops are on an ego trip. You had better hope they are. If they are doing the job for money you got a dummy out there with a badge and a gun with authority to temporarily take away your liberty and noone wants that." You sleep safe in your bed at night because rough men(and women)stand ready to do violence in your behalf." George Orwell

Sorry, guys. My life is way too busy (and I am too brutally honest) to ever make it in public office. Some bleeding heart liberal would have me assassinated within my first week of being elected. Politics is for jesters, dreamers & thieves. I don't fall under any of those categories. If I ever do get fed up enough to run for office, though, I may call on you guys for some support.

Murder is murder. No special protection is needed for a group such as the emotionally or mentally ill. The root of the problem is the overproduction and overpaying of lawyers. Tax the income of lawyers over the pay of a S C Supreme Justice at 90%. Deny positions as elected office or judge to any lawyer. You would soon see several improvements in our state.
