Scott Grandi, Northampton A: Gail Hammond of Walnutport made the same point, Scott, saying she appreciated last year's improvements to MacArthur's nearby Mechanicsville Road intersection, while adding the caveat about Eberhart: ''They alleviated a huge problem , so now I ask myself, 'Why are they allowing left turns at Eberhart Road?' A A... They ...

Scott Grandi said:They force motorists behind them who want to continue southbound either to stop or to swerve into the right lane, If you are aware of the problem, why are you in the left lane? Try and cut me off, and I will stuff you.

Thank God they're taking care of this. I never understood why they still allowed turning there. What a pain in the butt in the morning rush hours and busy weekends...

I was in an accident once on this type of intersection. People not famaliar with the area just do not realize they need to stop until too late. I am glad they fixed the mechanicsville road one and hopefully they get the others too.

What took so long ? This has been a problem for years. Why wasn't it fixed when the Lowe's went in about 2 years ago ? Lowe's didn't do anything to improve traffic in the area that I can see - only when the Wawa went in last year was the Mechanicsville Rd. intersection improved. That the Twp. is doing it all by themselves now says that it isn't all that expensive - so again, why the delay ?

You shouldnt be able to go left on Eberhardt. If you want to go left on Eberhardt, then drive up a tenth of a mile further and use the jughandle that swings around just past the old Don Pablos restaurant. This is a waste of money when there is already a solution in place, just that it will take drivers an extra 2 minutes to get to Eberhardt. This would be a similar concept to the rest of McArthur road in Whitehall!!

In response to Still a bad idea. Are you aware that the Glenside Avenue next to the Wawa leads back to Eberhardt Road? If your traveling south on MacArthur Rd./Rt. 145 make a left unto Glenside and the make a right on 7th and a left on Eberhardt. If your coming out of the School District take the new Whitehall Way Street and exit unto Mechanicsville crossover MacArthur Rd./Rt. 145 unto Glenside.

"...swerve into the right lane, risking accidents."

Maybe if people would slow the heck down and stop being in a rush to go NOWHERE, then there wouldn't be as much of a risk. It's not the Indy 500 on these roads but for some reason, people like to drive as though it's the final lap.

Seems like a lot of work just to eliminate one left turn, lol.

I agree! I cannot tell you how many times I have been trying to make a left hand turn anywhere for the matter, and cars come flying up on me and swerve the last second to avoid hitting me. And I get a horn blown at me every now and then. HMM......MY TURN SIGNAL AND BREAK LIGHTS MEAN SOMETHING! People just don't pay attention anymore. Slow down you idiots, you're just going to come to another red light a little faster - wow you got far now didn't you? Lol!

Great education you seem to be getting over there at Southern Lehigh! I'm glad to see that they're teaching you how to put together coherent sentences.

Hi Dan,
Can you tell me how to leave the Sands Casino and get back on the Minsi Trail Bridge? I can get there from the bridge, but when I leave the casino I can't find the way to exit that will let you go back over the bridge. I've had to exit toward I-78 then turn around and go back or if you follow the way the police have you exit it dumps you onto congested Third Street.
Thanks
Kim
