Now that 2 have died from the accident that happened with Gene Galbreath driving drunk, what will the charges be changed to? He is trying to get out of all of it by saying someone else was driving. He's been advised to say that. We all know he was the driver. Now 2 is dead. is it just another DUI or will it be approp. Vehic. Homicide? Which it should be!!!

You are a liar. He has never said he wasn't driving. He was charged with negligent homicide for your information. Get your facts straight before you start running your mouth. They were ALL 3 SO DAMN DRUNK & if you KNEW he was driving drunk why didn't you call the police? You might could have prevented the accident. You don't know anymore than what you've heard like everyone else.

no matter how many died it will probably be dropped to manslaughter. Usually is. Gene isnt trying to get out of anythi. He knows what happened and hes ready to take whatever comes to him! you all are pissed because you wont get a check now. You made the man suffer long enough, now he is at peace with God.,

I don't know who you are but that is a terriable thing to say God will take care of you one of these days it is not my place to judge any one I didn't know Jerry but I did know Wayne and he was a good person any one that knew him knows that just because he drank didn't make him a bad person and he would help any one he could and no Gene will not be given a medal he is my son and I still love him as I do my other kids but I also know that he needs to pay for his part of what happened it was a terriable tradgey I am sure he will get some pen time but that won't be the end of his punishment he will suffer the rest of his life they were friends and he is already suffering

kudos to you janet. wayne, gene, jerry, neither of the three were perfect but then no one is. they all had their faults just like every other person on this planet, and i personally feel sorry for all three familys, not 1, not 2, but all three because, yes jerry and wayne died, but anyone who knew them knew wayne and gene were like brothers and this has to be killling gene. give him my best. i am sorry for everyone involved, this is a tragedy that no one or no ones family should have to go through.

May God be with you because someday you may be going through a tragedy & I hope you remember saying that. Only God knows what was in Jerry & Waynes heart & only God has the right to judge them. The bible says, " The wages sin pays is death" so they have both payed for whatever sins they may have committed. They were all three friends out having a good time & it all ended very tragically. Now two of them is gone forever & one will have to live with it fot the rest of his life. It won't matter how long he goes to prison he will have to live with this tragedy forever.

I would like to state Jerry was not an idiot. He was a man with a drinking problem. He also left a 13 year old daughter that knew he wasn't perfect but loved him anyway. I don't understand how anyone could write such trash about things they know nothing about. Yes the men were drunk and paid the ultimate price for their actions. Thankfully no one else was hurt. Gene will always have to live with the results.

You are so right! He will carry the weight on his shoulders the rest of his life. I have been told by a very close friend that Gene is NOT trying to get out of any of the responsibility in the accident, he has faced what his destiny may be. If that is prison he is willing to due his time. He can't take back what happened and many people make mistakes, it just happened that in this case 2 men paid the price for the decision to get into a vehicle where all 3 men were drunk. It is a rough situation for the families involved in this devastating accident.

Everyones views has been very interesting to read. However, the question is still at hand. Still unanswered. What should he be charged with? Yes they were all drunk. Yes, they knew better. Yes, they made the decision to get in the car. But, Gene made the decision to drive! I'm not saying they didn't all make a mistake. they will all answer to Jesus OUR LORD. My question is.. what will he or should he be charged with. Makes no difference to me that he has decided to accept responsibility finally. Just that he is given the proper punishment. I've loved here all my life. He is not the only one that has gotten away with more DUI's than most. The punishment our law enforcement hands out is a JOKE. Lets start handing down sentences that fit the crime. Not just in this case!!! But in all the cases. Quit spatting hands and send the drunk drivers and the meth users and sellers where they belong. I have grandkids growing up, and I personally DON'T want them around them. Can't we all say that we need to clean up around here. I would take the punishment of anything I was caught doing if I broke the law. I would expect to be punished. That is why we have laws. Our judges just won't stick to the program!! Do you get my point now as to why I ask the question in the first place?

If Jeff is your family you might want to talk to him & tell him to leave Gene alone. Gene will be punished for his part in the accident. If Wayne had been driving which he did before, would everybody still be blaming Gene? They were all 3 DRUNK so they were all to blame. I figure he's just trying to impress his momma. He always was a mommas boy. She made the statement she was going to kill Gene. It wasn't Genes fault that Wayne drank that day. As a matter of fact Wayne called him & asked him to come down there. I guess the Galbreaths should be saying it's his fault because if he hadn't called Gene wouldn't have been there. They are good people & have all worked for what they have.
