We have two resturants in town that are owned and operated by people with foreign country connects. Ameria was founded by people like this. The Adriana owners are American born and are citizens just like you. The China Express owners came from Mainland China but they own and operate their own resturant and have invested in this community. Both of these owners send their kids to the local school. Both businesses stay busy. The Mexican Resturant owners went on to put in other resturants and did well $ and has sold them and has chosen to invest here in Walnut Ridge where the family is making their home. They are taking pride in giving something back to the community. THAT IS WHY WE HAVE THE NICE RESTURANT GOING IN. Now, McDonald's is putting in a new resturant that is owned by a big chain with LosVegas connections. Probably nothing wrong with that, but is does have a ring to it doesn't it? That is important only to those of you that want to make something out of it. The fact is, Mc Donald owner is not from here but they are very busy also and are building a new place. The profits from it go out of town and do not stay with local banks. But, the other two place use local banks and are spending their profits here. I'm a proud patron of all three places and a lot of other people are also. I hear the new place is going to buffet and will have country cooking coupled with steaks. That sounds good to me!

I proudly support Adriannas. Would eat at the Chinese place more often if they would keep it cleaner and either clean the fish tank or get rid of it. I support. Mcdonalds. They employee several people and those employees need their jobs.

The more good food we have in this area the more out of town people will stop here, and locals will stay in town and eat; and it all amounts to jobs and a more livable community. I can see some good movement in our town. Some people are really trying to help the area and by dog it I am not going to stand in their way and talk them down.

I agree the Chinese food is good there. I just get turned off by the dirty aquarium and I have heard that from several people. I really believe the business would do better without the aquarium if they are not going yo keep it clean

I support both businesses, but I must say that the statement that their children attend our schools is untrue. The children of the adrianna's people don't speak English and only one of the Chinese kids does.

The children of both establishments do go to our schools. Not going to give specifics because they are children and deserve the privacy and security. Some of them are in children's classes.

Language is a barrier, but they work on that. It's school. They go there to learn. They even teach English there!

Yes. Grammatical english. As I far as I know, there is no one at walnut ridge or hoxie that speaks Chinese. Explain how you close the barrier there.

The children all know enough English to function on a daily basis. Speaking English and understanding it are two different things. I don't sit in the classroom on a daily basis to give you full details on their curriculum, but I do know that these children are in Lawrence County School Districts. Language is not a barrier.

If the Chinese and the Hispanic want to live here they should learn English and teacher it to their own kids. Why should we have to accommodate those who speak Spanish. We don't accommodate those who speak french, German or any other foreigners who move here.

The Chinese and the Mexican folks speak at least 2 languages and how many do you speak? Chinese probably know more than two. They teach english and japanese in their schools. And many kids here can not speak or read any where near grade level and they live here.

These children don't get special accommodations. They are taught/encouraged to use the proper words to communicate with their teacher and classmates. The school district provides assistance for all children that require it. Many of your "English" speaking children speak no clearer than Chinese or Spanish. Where were their parents teaching them to speak proper English?

I daresay that if we had a child from Germany, France, or any other foreign country in ANY Lawrence County School, they too would be given the same consideration. It's just not happened yet.

PS--your racist roots are starting to show.

Looks to me like the US caters too much to the hispanics. We put up signs in spanish, label foods in spanish, etc. My thought is if they are going to live here they should learn English and live and speak as we do. We do not make special accomdations for the French, Chinese, Japanese, Italian or any other nationalities so why Hispanic. If they want to live here they should learn English and teach it to their children. And no I am not a racists. Just proud of my country and its language and feel they should adapt to our ways.
