What I read the owner got fined and her licenses taken away. The funeral home itself got a big fine and fut on probation for 5 years. Others that I didn't know also got large fines for the way they operate. I decided a long time ago that I would not use that place, due to all of the horror stories about the place.

I used to work there Kevin now gone was the most respectful of the dead outa all of them. The other guy that worked there thats now a cop was a total creep to the bodies just disrespectful yanked around on them and didn't cover up their privates. Kevin was a druggie but I saw first hand he treated them like they were somebody he always took paper towels and covered up their privates men and women and was never abusive to them.He just did what he had to do and was very respectful. doing that all the time would drive anyone into doing drugs

I think it was the state board that regulates funeral homes that put it to them. I think they also have trouble with the insurance board. I have done work for them and I tell you it has been a basket case there for many years. I guest some of the people that use to protect them are out of power.

Would there be any kind of court settlement brought up regarding this? No compensation for the victims(of the deceased of course) of this?

Is anyone reporting this? I can't find it.

Answer to "Well"--The Arkansas State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors is the only body that has heard this, so far. Families would have to file complaints with the Board, but I don't believe (may be wrong, but I don't remember reading it in the rules) they can order a funeral home to pay restitution.

However, you could file charges in civil court, and hope that several do. You could file for an unlicensed embalmer preparing bodies; an unlicensed funeral director making arrangements with the family when the family pays for "professional services" and any number of other things.

This maybe, but they won't serve my family. We have had enough. If I'm not right look over it, but I understand even their right to do business is probationary for 5 years and that a large fine was assessed.

If the owner has had their license taken away that really tells me something I don't even want to think about. I talked to a former employee that said the fines totaled $7,000 plus probation and the Higginbotham owner's license was taken away. They have an elderly gentleman there out of Jonesboro that is trying to help out but I doubt he has a clue about how they have been running things for years. He will likely last about as long as the rest who have worked there. Burned twice, I will not be burned again.
