This really happened. The lady that died was from up north. Her parents came looking for her when they couldn't get in touch with her. And her ex-husband told them he didn't know where she was. Only a few days later they found out what happened to their daughter. It did happen on Ridgecrest, The house was empty for many years after that. No one that knew what had happened there wanted to move in. I was in my early twenties I guess when this happened.
half your story is true. yes her parents did come looking and yes, Wayne Sluder did lie but the truth is he was the real killer Cathy was just a patsy. want to know more ask her.

we still talk, i investigated her case for over 17 years. i know her well.

The story about the Ridgcrest murder is definitely true as you've figured out by now. The husband was involved (the family said) but gave evidence on the wife and was able to pretty much get off. The children were involved in moving the bones and the family of Cathy said that the family dog got one of the larger bones and started running around the neighborhood and the kids had to chase it down. If I remember correctly the body was rolled in a rug and taken out to burn and then what was left was disposed of (bone fragments). Cathy remains in jail and probably will for the rest of her life. You can see a picture of her on the state website for arkansas inmates.
well, you are half right. the lie is about the family and children. i know because i talked with every member of her family and at no time did any member including her chidlren state this, Waynes children on the other hand admitted in court that their daddy did it and because Wayne made Cathy beleive at the time he would did she did confess, but, she also passed 6 lie detector test so, let us make sure our story is correct when telling it and by the way, Cathy has been out of prison, she is doing well, i even have statments from guards that say there is no way she done this crime. i know Cathy after 17 years of investigating her that she only tryed to protect Wayne Sluder but, lost everything because he set her up to take the fall. there were no bones found and that my friend came from the lead investigator himself.

so...cathy was the murderer, and the name of the murdered person was, what? and what was the name of the husband? wanna make sure no family members ever associate with these people!! was the motive just plain jealousy or what??
how can a murderer be out of prison? shouldn't they have to stay behind locked bars? i would hate to know a murderer was living in our county. makes me shiver just thinking bout it! i looked it up in TD archives, and there is nothing reported on this there. WIERD, HUH??
let me share this with you. i have worked with many acengy's in my time but you are so outthere. this women was not the real killer her ex husband was and beleive me, she is a good christian women who helps anyone she knows or don't know, and this was before she went to prison, the sad part is you are so closed minded you would never see a bit of good in your life. do you every wonder what people say about you, really say about you? you might want to think that over.

The story about the lady on ridgecrest is true. Her son is michael liscomb, and he is severly damaged becasue of it. i think she made him do part of the cutting up or something.
let us set you start on your horror story. micheal liscomb was serverly hurt in a head on collesion with an 18 wheeler which killed his best friend.(dale). he was raised by his grandparents who had him since he was born, he did not live with his mother so, your story is pure fiction. this is the truth, look it up if you want but you are the worst at gossip. maybe you should do some research before you make a comment on something you really don't know. so folks the above story is fiction. the writer did not know the facts. but if you have any doubt ask. i have studied this story for over 17 years and know everyone involed. what i tell you can be proving, not mere gossip. but those who know nothing.

after reading some of the most horrifing gossip on this forum i do not understand how anyone can beleive anything they read. the story of Cathy Sluder killing Velma Sluder is so out there. People, READ BETWEEN THE LINES. In the court house on the day of court, a Doctor who lived behind the Sluders testified no body had been burnt. anyone who knows about burning flesh knows everyone in the neighborhood would have noticed that. also, Wayne Sluder's own kids stood in court and said they seen their daddy use his fist and knock Velma in the hallway and picked her up and carried her out of the hall by her hair. then if that was not enough, Cathy passed 6 lie detector test. the truth is Cathy confessed to save Wayne because she had been ill with losing her and Wayne's son, and due to all the medication the doctors had her own she could not funtion and Wayne knew he could use this to his advantage. the truth is that in court records it was stated that there was never any human bones found. Cathy was convicted because she confessed for Wayne, while she done that he was in the other room signing a statement saying she done it. and in Arkansas the law says you confess you are guilty. Cathy went to prison for 17 years for something she did not do and people on her are saying so much crap about her and do not even know this women. maybe you all should talk to Cathy. you might find the truth is not what you have been told by listening to this gossip on here.

My point is Phillip is that yes you were there with don but not bones were found, please re-read your own words in one of your statments, it say (i seen bones but not a skull but there were small bones we did not know they were human at the time). i merely ask you know the truth. this lady has been through enough already and to stumble accros a bunch of people talking about that makes it worse. i appoligize if i offended you but i was there and went through the whole case and evidence and i can honestly say she did not do it. especially after Wayne Sluder told his buddies he took the body to Clear Lake and got rid of her.

I agree that it is in the past but this women has suffered enough of the lies and my point is that if they want to know the real story why not just ask her. she has nothing to fear, she has paid a high price for potecting him and she knows what she done was wrong. If anyone spent just a few hours with her talking they would know too. the truth is always stranger then fiction.

Does anyone remember back in the mid 70's near Lynn the hunting incident where a young man with the last name of Sharp got shot by another hunter and was left to bleed to death? I believe the Sharp man was newly married with a small child. His dad was Wes Sharp who lived on the Parker Springs Road/Nunnally Loop.
