Park Behavior while on duty + Conflict with Judge Freeman + Conflict with Judge Hayes + Failure to manage Department + All that is unknown = Resignation or Termination. If Mayor doesn't act, he should resign as he is not doing his job. Otherwise the public should insisted that the council Remove Thatcher. Then someone should start a petition to have Don House recalled. He destroys everything he gets involved with!

Does anyone know whether or not the mayor has entertained the thought of replacing Thatcher after all of the facts about his misuse of the city cell phone among numerous other facts that House has been made aware of. Then you throw in the fact that his beautiful, Billy Ray Cyrus mullet haired girlfriend was caught misusing and more or less stealing from both the city and the county with the position she held at the 911 center. And to add to that I would not rule out the possibility of an audit followed up by an investigation conducted by the State Police, leading to one or two indictments before it's said and done over what has been occurring with Sherri at the helm.
It is and has been evident that both Thatcher and Sparks have been abusive, deceitful, unethical to the positions thy were and are presently appointed to. If House acts now by replacing Thatcher he would save himself and maybe this community from a lot of embarrassment.
I'm certain that there many other incidents that will come out of the wash in the coming months.

Don House is to conceited to admit his piss poor choice for Chief. He will defend Thatcher all the way. He's gonna ride that horse right over the cliff!

House will defend Thatcher until the end . There is no doubt that termination is in order for Thatcher. House will not act because he will upset 2 of his only 6 local friends (Jesse and Ann Pulliam) The Police department is the main culprit of the cities financial situation. Thatcher is in cahoots with Shawn Allen and Jeff Midgett in more ways than one. These guys are the 2 least Sr. Officers. What was the Criteria for Layoff? Mayor Houses leadership is called Nepotism. The best thing Chief Thatcher could do if he really cares about "Uncle Don", is vacate his post immediately.

Whatever anyone "thinks" they have in the lines of proof of misuse of city appropriations, has been lied too. Or due to a personal dislike of these people, have decided to "create" problematic scenarios. Its certainly sad. Also a good question, What was the criteria for layoff. Im not sure anyone but Thatcher knows that, as far as allen and midget are concerned, Both of them have more law enforcement experience individually than most of the officers there except maybe shawn but still he was employed fulltime before Jenkins ever completed the academy. Come on, and most of the people posting here have no 'real' knowledge of any of the workings of the department or city as a whole, they just repeat what they have been hearing, like a bunch of damn parrots. Grow up already.

If an audit is done, you need to go back way before Thatcher. The chief before him was very crooked from what i have heard so if gonna do it might as well do it right!

Why is that the WRPD has a budget of $450,000.00 and spends $600,000. and there are people who actually get on here and defend this kind of reckless over spending! How in the hell does a town the size of Walnut Ridge spend that kind of money on the police dept.? And then have the mitigated gaul to point at a previous chief that doesn't have SHIT to do with what's going on right now? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!!!!

Why is it that you think that a budget that is set a year prior to the working year, for a department that operates on CURRENT prices of overhead, and not last year prices..., can even come close to hitting a projected number.?? If you set a budget with average fuel cost of 2.75 a gallon, and within the actual budget year it hovers 3.75, YOUR GONNA BE OVER! Then take into consideration the immense cost of the flood and other natural disasters, which also eat up fuel and man hours (all unprojected/unbudgeted costs) with little federal assistance; THEN Blow up a building that was insured for 30k but cost 60k to replace even with cut corners (labor, equipment, supplies, amenities) OVERBUDGET is expected, and in NO way intentional to keep the level of service our community is used to and deserves. How do you have the "mitigated gaul" to expect the citizens to accept being shortchanged over BUDGET FORECAST FAILURE and uncontrollable circumstance? not to mention spending goes through the council and mayor before checks are written... so now wheres the finger pointing?

....let's see. Here is your justification.$1.00/ gallon difference in fuel (I really thought fuel stayed about the same on average). But anyway ...$150000 over budget divided by $1 = 150,000....dah right? 150,000 x avg 18 MPG = 2,700,000 miles driven in one year. That's it Richy. That's where the problem was. 7,397 miles per day!

Wow really... Of all that, the only thing you caught was fuel. Your helping to prove my point, so why go against the grain,? What a narrow minded idiot.Just completely ignore the totality and make up your own shit....hahaha, you must simply have something against richy instead of a concern for the town or its finances. If your problem is with him, drop by his office during the week so yall can hug it out. Otherwise get over yourself.

Not kidding at all! The point is we havent had a honest chief in a very long time, including the previous one. There were alot of rumors going around regarding the previous chiefs crooked ways. Only stating that investigations should go back starting with him up till now. I bet we would all be surprised what was dug up.

There was never any suspicion cast on Gator by anyone other than Richey Thatcher, so stop trying to get the focus off your boyfriend Sherry.

Guest, I'm glad you have so uch to say at 1:00 in the morning. But my question would be, what have to done to help the city and their problems beside getting on every thread and calling everyone a tard. And were you at the council meeting last night to help come up with a solution to anything. plain and simple """If your not part of the solution, then your part of the problem""" ""
Its negative attitudes like yours that will always keep this town down.
