I just found this article and discovered it sort of answered my question as to what the family did earlier that night. Some other interesting info as well.

Your insight is appreciated. I hope you have seen the news video where the mom states the step-dad was becoming possessive of the girl.
The son makes a comment:
"[Cornell] probably wouldn't hide it where everybody would think to look at," said Sidney's brother Ben. "You never know with him. He's unpredictable but not stupid."
The link for this is: http://www.katv.com/story/21633941/the-search...
Odd to use the word 'it' instead of her or sister. Maybe at this point LE has said it is becoming a recovery and that is his meaning. But the location, an unusual location; somewhere a normal search and rescue wouldn't consider.(I do believe LE looks at any location)
A topix post said John Cornell was once angry with a neighbor and made a comment regarding a well. All wells are mapped; all not in use are capped.
Maybe not a well; but I am wondering specifically about a place where nobody would search. Graveyards have been mentioned on here. New construction? Concrete would have been on his clothes.
He worked for a farmer that farms huge amounts of land. He had access to a cabin. The family home; the site where his body was found; the cabin; streams, lakes etc have been searched repeatedly and with Search & Rescue dog teams as well as cadaver dogs. The farmers in the county and bordering counties have checked their property; abandoned and empty buildings have been checked. He knew the area very well. What could be a place no one consider to search?
I may make an email account so we can make contact; then when you respond; dump that account because of the crazies. Thanks for your input.
I agree...It was unusual that the brother use the term "it" instead of my sister or her and the use of the word "body bag"..Brings to light another possible suspect...Intriguing

Hello Letsthink, Rle, Angel and all! Some really good posts and thoughts from all. Sorry to not hear or see any updates re Sidney not being found yet. I read that LE had some good leads, so I hope we hear some positive news soon. I was thinking about that article I posted where the mother said that when she woke up and saw that Cornell and Sidney were both gone, she thought maybe Sidney got sick and John took her to the hospital? so she called and checked to see if they were there? Now, this sounded really strange or far fetched to me. Why did she think Sidney got sick when a few hrs. earlier she was fine and why would she think that Cornell would just take her daughter to a hospital and not let her know anything or that he was taking her? Didn't these two communicate or know what the other was doing? Did Cornell have the habit of just being gone throughout the night and returning home in early AM? Was Sidney allowed up and out at all hours? Were Cornell and Sidney spending late hours together while the mother slept? I am still thinking Cornell coaxed Sidney out of the home that night with the "store" excuse. I keep thinking about him needing cigarettes and asking her to go right quick. Has anyone heard any confirmation of any stops anywhere? I read on another site, something about McDonald's drive thru, but not sure if that was true or not.

I do too, and I am inclined to believe that it was kept hidden out of fear. Cornell was an avid hunter and sportsman and not a stranger to guns. I'm also thinking he had a controlling and mean disposition. He also appears to be a big guy that may have easily intimadated others. Kinda like the ol "Don't mess with John thing". I know police said he didn't have any kind of criminal background, and no history other than a pot deal back 10 yrs. or more, but I would be real concerned over his mental status and if he had some sort of disorder. I wonder the same regarding the mother. There has to be some medical condition or something we don't know about. I just don't know that we will ever have all the answers, but I am praying Sidney is found. I read the searching was continuing all weekend. God Bless the searchers, LE and everyone involved in helping. I hope they find her.

Read somewhere that he worked for Gaither farms. I believe all the farms locally; those in neighboring counties have checked their farms. I would think the employer did as well.

I think it reasonable to wake; find a child missing and come up with the idea of the hospital. Lots of mom's will call an ER and ask if an accident victim was brought in fitting their child's description. It is a mom thing maybe.

However, absolutely nothing else fits in the reports from news. Nothing. Yes, I read the step father is on video going thru McDonald's and the son at different times the night Sidney disappeared. The only stories that have remained the same come from the biological father. He; his girlfriend and the 10 yr old are the only ones who display emotions that are expected. I no longer believe mom knows nothing.

idk Sad Story,
Think about this,
there was friends in the house that night, he couldn'd do anything in that small house without being caught/seen...

He waits til bedtime and forces the child to go with him (leave her cell phone home,) to the LOCATION where he has been storing food..so he can do anything and everything he feels like to the child...maybe the child is still there...jmo

Maybe he learned from that other story over in Alabama, where the guy had built a bunker under ground. He may have a container of some sort buried under ground.I wonder if searchers have used a thermo imaging or sonar device to searh under ground.

I havent seen anyone say WHERE he was stockpiling the food.
Also havent seen where it stated EXACTLY how much money he had on him- just that he had a large amount. But also saw where he went on spending spree, so maybe he spent the tax money and got more money that was the LARGE amount found on him.

People get lots ($3,550 and more) at tax time. Not all of us, but some do. That would buy a computer, even two. A used handgun (or new about $850) and still allow the cash in his pocket.

I would imagine State Police or FBI has seen the paperwork about how much the return was. I think the cash in his pocket and not left with his family who needed it, is important. That is selfish and controlling but it adds more to the negative things we know about him.

A person can do strange things when they about to expire. She could have shot him and got away. He may have had enough strength left to get out of the truck and attempt to pursue her.Other-wise why would he have been out of the truck when found? We can guess all we what. If I were younger and healthier,I'd be over there helping to find her.I have grand daughters. I shudder to think what I would do if anyone hurt them.
