Where are the parents???

They let thier daughter out who is 16 at 2am in the morning and then it is found out that there was drinking.

Please Please start to parent this child.

She is 16 and your most important parenting lay ahead.

I guess we see now why she was kidnapped.

Absolutely no parental guidance whatsoever.

Since: Mar 08

The article clearly says the father was surprised by the call from police....many kids believe it or not sneak out of windows and doors when their parents are sleeping. She does not seem to have had permission so quit blaming the parents. What about 20 year old adults having a teenager in the vehicle at that hour and under the influence of alcohol to top it off!?? People seem to always want to blame the parents yet do you REALLY always know where your children are at for those "perfect" ones commenting. Do you think you get a call always from school when your child is absent-do you not think kids forge absent notes, and that some even sneak out at night? What "bad" things did you ever do when you were young? Were you all perfect and all obeying? Parents need to not be naiive nor judgemental of other parents-most parents really do the best job they can and kids will always push all limits-this defines them at this age for the most part. Thank goodness all survived and may they learn from this tragic lesson and be smarter people..

Vallejo Police Lt. Joel Salinas said, "Studies show that if you're careful, that turn can be done at 85 miles per hour..."

Lt. Salinas - why in the world would you say that? Seems a lot of people already think Columbus Pwky is a race course and now you seem to be sanctioniing it!

One more thought - Buckle your seatbelt people!

Midsi is a POS. always drunk, always stoned, always ditching school, always in the mix of fights and gun fire. She has used 7 of 9 lives.
Do you personally know Midsi Sanchez? Probably not! This girl has been through the unimaginable when she was just 8 years old! A traumatic expierience that has and always will deeply effect her life! PLEASE DO NOT CAST JUDGEMENT ON SOMEONE,ESPECIALLY A "CHILD" WHOM YOU THINK YOU KNOW ABOUT,BUT REALLY HAVE NO IDEA! This young lady is a fighter, mistakes have been made in her life, and she will make more, but these negative comments are not necessary, this is still a child. Get well soon MKS,WE LOVE YOU!

OMG finally someone with good sense has spoken!!!! I agree with you totally! Parents can no more watch over what their children do out of their presence any more than we can stop the remarks that come out of some people's mouths. That child made a bad decision and now she has to pay for it, God bless her and her family through this. I myself would sneak out of the house at 3am while my mother was sleeping and drink beer at the park with my friends while we were on the swings! Hello, I was swinging...trying to be an adult and a child at the same time. My mother has not found out about it and that was more than 40 years ago! If my mother knew some of the stupid things I did.....that I am still paying for unto this day!

Thanks for your comment!

Shay 58 is an idiot, please don't give him/her any attention. He/she is on here everyday with something ignorant to say about everything. Probably a guy is verbally abusive, racist, untelligent and is seeking whatever thrill he can get.

If you think it is normal behavior for a teen in your house to sneak out of the house at 2am you are not much of a parent.

I tried this once growing up and my father skinned me alive. My father remains in my eyes to this day a hero.

I currently am raising a 19 year old who has never done this and knows what the consequences would be.

I have trained and talked to my daughter about this numerous times. Yes that is what is called parenting .

Stop making excuses for teens. That is one of the reasons we are in such a mess now.

Either learn to control your teens or the prison system will !!!!

ADMITTING SOMETHING IS A POSSIBLITY DOES NOT MEAN U CONDONE IT OR ACCEPT IT AS NORMAL BEHAVIOR...I SNUCK OUT WHEN I WAS A TEEN NOT OFTEN BUT I DID..I WAS A STRAIGHT A STUDENT WHO DID NOT DRINK ...AND I WOULD NEVER DRIVE WITH SOMEONE WHO DID...BUT THAT IS ME...DID U EVER AT THAT AGE DO ANYTHING THAT YOUR PARENTS DID NOT HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF OR APPROVE OF?????????? I AGREE THAT WE MUST MAKE OUR CHILDREN ACCOUNTABLE AND THAT GOOD PARENTING IS NECESSARY..BUT WE ARE HUMAN ...DID YOUR PARENTS MAKE ANY MISTAKES?...HAVE U MADE ANY IN REARING YOUR CHILDREN? WE CANNOT EXPECT PERFECTION FROM OUR CHILDREN OUR OURSELVES AS PARENTS...IT IS NOT POSSIBLE..AND THAT FATHER WHO SKINNED U ALIVE..IN THE EYES OF THE LAW TODAY WOULD HIS PUNISHMENT BE VIEWED AS GOOD PARENTING OR WOULD HE FACE CHARGES...??? JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT

For your information:

My Father was a decorated Veteran of WW2. He was the most honest man I have ever met in my life.

He was brutally honest!!

When I stepped out of line he was there to straighten me out with a "belt on the bottom"

I did the same thing my kid.

U STILL DID NOT ANSWER THE QUESTIONS I ASKED AND MY FATHER TOO IS A DECORATED VETERAN...AND HIS POLICIES ON DISCPLINE MAY HAVE BEEN SIMILAR TO YOUR FATHERS OR SO IT SEEMS...THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS U LIST FOR YOUR CHILD ARE WONDERFUL...BUT IN ALL HONESTY A PERSON CAN POSSESS THOSE QUALITIES AND STILL LACK OTHER VERY IMPORTANT ONES...WHEN MY FATHER SPEAKS OF ME, I WOULD HOPE HE WOULD MENTION MORE THAN MY CAREER ACADEMIC OR OTHERWISE AND DRIVING HISTORY TO HIGHLIGHT THE PERSON I AM...BUT THAT'S JUST ME
