If the sun is in your eyes to the degree that you can't see where you're going the proper course of action IS TO PULL OVER AND STOP UNTIL CONDITIONS IMPROVE.

<tongue in cheek>
perhaps the state could put this to a vote in the next election. "Should the Sun be dimmed during daylight hours?" I'm sure we could shift monies from lower priority issues like education and jails to fund such legislation.

on a more serious note...
I hope the girls recover quickly and completely.
...and a note to self - clean the windows on car to cut down on glare.

What the hell is it with Vallejo drivers? They seem have a "thing" for running over pedestrians in cross walks?

She was driving her car to fast for the conditions, period. Lock her up!

and you seem to have a "thing" for judging people. at least the woman STAYED on the scene and didnt fled or deny it was her fault. i say you come to vallejo and tell us what other "things" we like to do, jerk.

&& i also wish the best for the two girls recoveries and blessings to both parties involved! <3

This same problem is waiting to happen at Springstowne Middle School on Springs Rd. School starts at 7:50 am. Children crossing Springs Rd are at the mercy of drivers who have the sun in their eyes. Please advocate for STOP SIGNS at the crosswalks to alert drivers to the children attempting to cross the street. Yesterday morning I witnessed yet another near accident in the crosswalk. The boy's mother escorted him to the crosswalk and watched him cross. A white Toyota Camry didn't see him and almost hit him His mother's heart was in her throat...it must have been horrifying for her. Two years ago, after a child was hit in a crosswalk by a driver with the sun in his eyes, the city installed a stop sign on the Tennessee St. side of Springstowne. It's the same sun on Springs Road, and the same problem - why not take care of both problems at once? And on Springs it isn't obvious that children will be crossing to attend school, so drivers are less aware of the hazard.
Advocate for better attention to this issue in Vallejo. Crossing guards are best, of course. A stop sign that forces drivers to pay attention is a decent solution as well. Are you listening, Vallejo - or just waiting for a child's death to occur?

this lady needs to be in jail and have her lisence taken away. I attend Prospect High its in the same place as phms and my friend was walking to school and saw the whole thing. The kids were just walking across the cross walk and got hit how fair is that?

Look bone head, the woman said to police that her vision was impaired by the sunlight but she did not slow down even though she was driving in an area where there was a school. Assuming you have a drivers licence and that you have read the Californis State Drivers Handbook you would be kneenly aware that it is your responsibility as a driver to slow down around a school area when children are present let alone your vision is impaired. Common sense dictates the same.

The fact that she waited by the bodies of the two girls she ran over in the cross walk does not make her some how a good person. There were witnesses to the driver's action,and her car was damaged so she could not have gotten to far if she drove off.

Additionally "genius", this is a comment board so yes people say their opinion here. Was this woman your family member or friend?
