When did beers learn to walk?

I wonder if he was drinking at the time? Crosswalks are dangerous in Vallejo because most vehicles dont stop for pedestrians.

They always put the crosswalk in the wrong place. There are four crosswalks on one block of Redwood and nobody seems to find any of them convienent. Why do they walk past one crosswalk then cross the the street between crosswalks then continue down the street past the next crosswalk? That must mean the crosswalks are not where the idiots wanted to cross.

Drivers don't stop for pedestrians most of the time..and honestly "I" do not feel safe stopping for pedestrians aka "bums, crack fiends" on Sonoma Blvd, especially at nite..I'd rather keep on going than get jacked.

Big ditto there. |

If you are out there walking, you should scare of cars because drivers don't have respect of people.

What? no hit and run? Are they sure this was in Vallejo?

The negative light put on the incident by the simple and unnecessary statement "walking home with two beers" is disgraceful. There are two properly placed street crossings either side of Capitol and Sonoma because of the stairs to the East and the recent re-paving of the road has left the crossings 'unpainted'. The scattering of temporary reflectors along a mile or so of the street is a joke. Nevertheless there is a 30 mph speed limit in effect there. Driving South at the speed limit there's plenty of time to slow down for pedestrians after you clear the crest of the hill North of Capitol street.
I passed by shortly after the incident and the statement that 'it was unclear if he was in a crosswalk' is ludicrous. He was no longer in the crosswalk because he'd been thrown 50 feet down the road. The car had front passenger headlight and cowling stoved in and the passenger windshield crushed and dented in by a foot and a half. The car was speeding, of that I am certain. |
