Thanks to the fire dept and police for organizing the Fowler Park Halloween party last night. Maybe next year more games could be added - it would give the kids a reason to want to stay a little longer - I think the kids would like that. Thanks again!

The Town of Walnut Cove was the organizer of the Halloween event. Being a town department, the police participated, as always. Over 450 treat bags, which included a glow stick, were given out by the police dept, and Jet the K-9 officer was there for at least part of the time.
The Town also gave out candy, in excess of 270 pounds across the town and police.
The fire department was notified, and also gave out candy. I was hoping a fire truck would be made available - as it was last year - but it was not. Possibly, the continual drizzle did not allow that.
I agree that more games should be included. What would the kids like?

Maybe a firetruck was not involved because they were tied up on a working house fire in a neighboring fire district. check on it and see if thats not so . I think a working house fire takes priority over halloween festival, dont you? Ask around about a fire on highway # 8 halloween night and you see walnut cove fire dept. assisted with a waorking house fire . Espically a fire with someone trapped inside it. Dont be so quick to judge.......

Zoozoo and NOT... You guys are just hateful mean people... I think what the woman was trying to say is that the kids would have really enjoyed seeing a fire truck, and she didn't understand why there wasn't one thinking the rain may have been the reason one was not brought out. I don't think it was a mean spirited comment, when there are fires not every truck at the station goes out so there were fire trucks in the bay. A simple they were fighting a fire and there was no one to pull out a truck would have been ok. Geez you guys are just another prime example of all the nasty hateful people around town!

Metroll - I think the kids would enjoy traditional games - apple bobbing (maybe that's too gross w/ the flu going around!), homemade throw the rings into a pumpkin mouth, pop orange balloons - google could come up w/ thousands. But just interactive, inexpensive games where they could receive candy when they play it. Kudos for handing out so many treats on a rainy night! It seemed to be a great turn out.

no just tired of you people complaining about everything and not knowing whats really going on There may have been a firetruck in the station but nobody to drive it , they were on a fire call . so ease up on these volunteers , what they do day in day out you people dont care about , all you do is complain . Try supporting them for a change, its real hard to volunteer your time every day and people just keep trying to beat you down . They dont have to do anything but they chose to . Just quit bitchin and complaining about everything.

I am also a vol fireman .I also get the womans point. If not for the rain there may have been more activities. But her point was maybe next year there could be more. I think it would be a great idea. Maybe we could have cut more lights on in the bay areas. We could maybe even supervise the kids getting a tour and checking out some trucks. Our dept has been trashed by other forums and i apologize for their being defense. We have worked hard for positive Pr.Thank you for your comment.

I didnt say anything hateful , i just gave you a reason the firetruck might not have been there , thats all . I didnt put down this woman , just gave her a reason why the truck wasnt there, period . Look back at the article i wrote , theres nothing hateful about it . You mentioned it and i commented on it thats all. I didnt even have to use cuss words in my comment or call names . Thats whats wrong with this whole town people like you that jump on people for voicing ther opinion . Why do you have to cuss to get your point across? Seems to me someone else needs to grow up . She can voice her opinion about not having a firetruck ther , but i cant explain why it wasnt, hmmm thats real nice isnt it? Whatever Im just glad i dont live in your stinking town . bahahahaha

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Libra

If you live with other people you have to resign yourself to the fact that you all want to do different things today. The more you urge togetherness, the more everyone will be determined under tonight's Full Moon to do their own thing even if it creates problems. Try to play this down as much as possible because it's also a lunar eclipse and getting angry won't solve anything; it may even make the situation worse. Maybe this is a chance for you to do what you want for a change, too? Anyway, enjoy yourself tonight, Libra because you deserve it!
