Does anyone know what happened on Sunday Morning April 30th, about 1 am near Nogales and Shakespear. My daughter saw what appeared to be an accident and a body covered in a white sheet, and a couple of damaged cars and a lot of police.
I can't find anything in the paper. We saw some flowers near the corner today Tuesday.

Because if you are talking about that I heard the accident happen in the same minute apparently what happened by a friends rumor that the women was racing with some other car and the car hit the curb , hit 2 trees and made a flip by the obvious position . Her body was away from he car by around approximately 3.4 ft away from it with no head.

It was a male, I believe. Apparently the driver that was killed was street racing, hit the curb, crashed into 2 or 3 trees on the island in the middle of the road. Flipped onto an oncoming car, flew off and landed upside down from the sidewalk. He was ejected and landed quite aways from the car. He was killed instantly at 12:44 am.

Thanks all,

It was very traumatic for my daighter and her friends when they drove by on their way home. I hope it will make them be careful when they are out.

Good thing they weren't there when it happened.

It was fortunate it didn't involve any other vehicles in the crash.

The man who past away was Chris Perry. He was a West Covina resident and was less than a mile from his house when he was in the accident. He is a beloved father, son, and he was one of my best friends. He leaves behind two young sons, who he coached in little league, and numerous family and fiends who all love him and will miss him dearly.

I am sorry for your loss, deeply. I was on the scene after it happened, I hop the best for you and everyone who knew him. This may sound rude but this gives us a lesson about racing.

Is is unclear as to the cause of the accident. However, I can tell you that he was not a street racer and had no history with street racing. He was on his way home from a friends house, stopped and got something to eat, and just wanted to got home as quickly as possible.

then one of my friends is probably on the spot to what happened, im sorry to continue on this, he says if someone was going fast on this part of the street he must have lost control while driving and turning the wheel, hit the curb and well the unfortunate thing happened. Well anyways, I am going to leave a candle for him where that rip thing is at. God bless.

Yeah, I saw the same crash. Can't find any info myself. Saw the cops the other day taking measurements. Funny thing is, I only saw one messed up car, flipped over, and another that didn't seem damaged parked at the side. I saw the body. Cops are also monitoring Nogales. I have a funny feeling it may not have been a typical car crash, thus the reason there is no news about it.

The trees were small. That car was barely recognizable as a car. I dunno what happened but it's strange. I walked right up to the car before the cops saw me. The ones stopping traffic at Amanda street let me go through. Why, I have no idea. There are no skid marks but debree was scattered quite a ways. Why would six cops be taking measurements 5 days after if there wasn't something odd about it. Plus, someone died. You think it would be in the news.

If the victim was a safe driver, like it's stated above,(I'm not doubting it)then the crash would not be as bad. I saw headlight almost intact as I stepped onto the curb after I crossed Amanda. Anyone know which way he was travelling? There was only glass and stuff on one side of the street as if he was travelling towards La Puente rd. It doesn't make sense for the trees to have been knocked down the way they were. Look, I saw more than I would have liked.I was there at 4:15 a.m., several hours after.

I'm sorry to go on about it, but It has really traumatized me and I've become obsessed about what happened.

Well the corner was coming from Amanda heading to Shakespear, The car probably lost control on the lil curve and hit the curb, got on top of the middle island and hit 2 trees, which then resulted in a flip, which hit a car by the windshield and hood, luckily that woman made it off pretty minor. The car then hit the pavement onthe street and flipped, its pretty much calculated that the guy flew out of the windshield, landing facedown.

chris perry was an amazing person who has left behind numerous people who love and miss him. As one of those people I feel compelled to address all the speculation about his accident. The details about the accident seem irrelevant at this point considering it does nothing to honor him nor will it bring him back. He was an incredible man and I feel blessed to have known him. Rest in peace Chris.

The accident that you all are talking about is the accident that killed my cousin Chris. My cousin was not street racing, he was on his way home from a friends house and something very unfortunate happened. I loved my cousin with all my heart and i will forever miss him. i can remember seeing him the last time and he rubbed my pregnant stomach and said " I cant wait to meet my new little cousin".. My family and I will always remember my cousin for the good man that he was.. He has two little boys and they will miss their dad very much. Thank you to all the people that extended their condolences and thatks for all of your prayers. And to my cousin Chris " I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND I WILL MISS YOU, TELL GRANNY AND GRANDPA I SAID HI, AND I WILL SEE YOU ALL SOON... PEACE!!!!!!!"
