I thought Hearst owned the Latrobe Bulletin, not Sample as stated in the article.

Smart money is getting out of Gettysburg. The gangs have taken over, and the locals just continue to deny deny deny.

Name one other town similarly situated as Gettysburg with a street gang problem and a newspaper that has given up. Gettysburg is a sick sick place.

I thought there was a big money family associated with the Bulletin, isn't Scaife listed as an owner in the the little information box on the second page?

Some notable family is listed on the credits.

Who is this Sample family that owns 10 newspapers, small town newspapers, serving less than 10,000 people.

What is Sample's background, interests, affiliations?

Isn't George Segel the actor?...lol

Well, if Sample owns the Bulletin, and strives to own small town newspapers, I bet, my last dolla that there's a political agenda behind such a financially fruitless undertaking.

OMG you are correct. Anyone wanting to invest in small newspapers with circulations of less than 10,000 HAS a HUGE political agenda. It couldn't be that Sample News Group wants to keep the presses rolling in the small markets.

Yes, that's true. It can't be a business endeavor, since these small newspapers do NOT make money. Hell, the Latrobe Bulletin claims to have a circulation of 7,500, but really? There are only 2,500 households in Latrobe, and probably only 20% buy the shitty newspaper, to use as bird cage liners.

So, do you actually believe that the other 6,000 newspapers go to 6,000 households out of Latrobe?

Ligonier and Derry have combined populations of 3,500 people, and Blairsville has a population of 2,000. Where do you think those newspapers go?
What?

I was being sarcastic.

If you want the answers about the circulation, call the paper. They would be happy to provide you with the answers you desire.

Probably a straw man for the gangs. They need to launder their drug money somehow. Why not invest in the local newspaper and then purposely fail to report on the gang violence that is going in in Gettysburg??

Yea, but that's just a little news blurb. Aren't there any articles on who this "family" is?

What are their philanthropies? What are their interests? Are they Republican or Democrats? Conservative or Liberal?

Where did their money come from? Where do they actually live?
