Is it me or has this kind of news appeared more than it used to? Have kids been killed in crashes and it was never brought to the news?

It seems like such a shame, loss of life at a young age, or any age for that matter!

When will the vehicular manslaughter charges be coming?

Very sad. My thoughts are with his family.

Kids test the limits...and sometime pay the price. I was lucky...I used to drive like a maniac with a few close calls in my day.

I can't imagine the pain the parents are going through...losing a child, sad.

They should bring back the movie Signal 30. This may slow the kids down.

i am saddened by this news :/ i am a parent of an 18 year old, and i worry about him. we do the best we can to teach our kids to be safe on the road, but sometimes they just don't listen.

Have your child watch the movie Signal 30. Sam put the links in his comment.

Good luck

OMG, that's a blast from the past. I remember that from driver's ed in 1980 - and it was incredibly dated then. But I agree, there was a huge value in seeing what could happen to those 50's vintage tanks.

Condolences to the family; it's a tragic loss.

the problem is not only the kids, but the cars. When I got my license, i drove my mom's car. Now they run out and buy the kids their own cars and it's always the small, fast cars.

To Brian's family, my heart goes out to you for your terrible loss. Kevin and Christopher are in my thoughts and prayers that they will both make a full recovery.

i wonder if the kids were in a mini van if the comments would end about the type of cars in these accidents. have they determined SPEED to be a factor? no. an 18 year old child is dead. gone. 2 others have had their lives changed forever--yet the negative comments about spoiled kids and them having now what we didnt have then go on and on....

have some compassion on this thread people.

there are many grieving family members and friends who just don't need the finger pointing and name calling right now.

Is that all you have to say... why is that the first thing you would do is file a law suit? Have some compassion.

It is always sad to see. I have been out of school for 30 years and remember this happening almost every year at this time. I just don't know why we have to find fault all the time. Yes, Kids this age have less experience and that is a cause but I see as many fatilities with grownups, It's just when they are that young it stands out. If the accident was with 40 year olds, would we be asking they charge the driver with manslaughter?

well said bobbman. there are fatal accidents everyday on our roads in this state -but the type of car only comes into play when teens are invovled.

:o(

so sad. these families should be planning for proms and graduations. not hospital visits and funerals.

Wouldn't be the first thing, but definitely would be one of the top 10, and you would do the same thing, don't say you wouldn't, and everyone else on this post. Just like that phony baloney David Roy, trying to "heal" after his daughter died on Rt 6 in Bristol, it wasn't even a year later, and all 3 families filed a suit against the driver's estate, I guess it helps in the "healing" process. I tell it like it is, I don't live in FANTASYLAND

Yep, we would be.
