Thanks so much I know you are trying to get the correct information out
have you contacted the family and the news group/author directly?
It is VERY important to try to get current photos/information oout there
ppost in very conspicous places stores should be willing to put up missing persons posters, Post offices, Railroad stations, bus stations, convienience stores they can rotate posters if the y with on a monthy basis that way many will get the chance of being seen
if there is a small area avaialble to post say 4 adults and 4 youth,
Walking and hiking trails, junk yards, auto repair ad towing facilities,
What were her habits? Places shefrequented, hung out?
Did she go to some convienience stores regularly?
Delis? Music stores? DID she have a cellphone?
She couldn't drive on her own yet so... did she have any friends who had liscences and had acess to vehicles? Did she go to fairs?
What kind of state of mind was she n at school?
After school activities?
Write ideas down - get together with friends and jot down thoughts, ideas it's called brainstorming don't fight, argue just jot down things you know and give them to the local police/family members
You, her friends, schoolmates probably have a very god insight/view sometimes better than parents right now because of her age - adolescence makes it easier to take ad share with your friends and school mates sometimes teachers than with your family and parents....
Come on and keep doing what your doing comment, share, get out the facts!

Has there been any updates on Brittney's case?
I have her listed as missing on my MySpace website but have ben unable to find any follow up reports and she has not been listed as missing yet at NCMEC.

WTNH needs to get an updated story. There are many people hoping that she will be found. If anyone has an update, please post it. Thank you.

Well I guess a missing person does not rate up there with a missing pet, lots of follow-ups on those stories in Connecticut but nothing about a missing teen. Brittney Williams has still not been listed at NCMEC.
I guess the local press is waiting for a combo story; missing person/cadaver dog search.
Unquestionably that will spark there interest, just like it did in the case of Shamaia Smith. With the exception of the Hartford Courant, no one seemed interested in covering her story before the dogs were brought in.
"Oct 18, 2007
Tomorrow is Shabooda's birthday... I hope the family is doing well and are together, united in this time of sadness... I hope they are trying to heal yet still carrying the love of their dearly departed in their hearts. We Miss You Shamaia L. Smith.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY GURL...
Your friend MLC"
Well… As it turns out Shamaia's family and friends did; but the fact a 22 year old black woman was missing with out a trace for close to a month was not deemed news-worth, Right?
Now when it turned into a murder investigation with just enough hints of sex; well that made every news station in Ct.
PS: July 26 2008 was the 35 anniversary of the disappearance of Janice Pockett in Tolland, Connecticut. No paper felt that was important enough to cover either.

Tomorrow is the 4th anniversary of the disappearance of Billy Smolinski and no media dares to give the whole story:

Hi still waiting,
I could not agree more. Bill Smoiinski's case is sadly a classic. In my opinion, very, very poor work by LE. If "red flags" were translated into kilowatts then Billy's case would light up the northeast.
You don't ask your neighbor to look after your dog but don't give them the key to our house. You don't take off for reasons unknown when you have made future plans to go to 6 flags with a friend. In short nothing about Bill’s disappearance suggest he took off of his own free will.
Why has no one in the press asked the most important question, "who stranded to gain by Bill's disappearance" I can't answer that question.
I do think I know why local LE does not want that question asked. At best it is because they screwed Bill's case up from day 1, at worst it is because the Waterbury environment forced them to do so.
Will Bill ever be found? I hope so; for his parent’s sake. Will he ever get justice? I don't know; but I hope he will, for all our sakes.

By: Jason R. Vallee, Record-Journal staff, 4:23 p.m. 08/26/2008
WALLINGFORD - A 15-year-old girl reported missing earlier this month was located in Florida late last week and has returned home to her parents, police said Tuesday.
Brittney Williams of Wallingford was tracked to a Florida town where she had been staying with friends, police said.
Williams' parents, Kenneth and Melissa Beckert, reported her missing on Aug. 13 when she didn't return from a friend's house. Police said Williams had made a personal decision to leave and no arrests were made. The case has been closed.

It is good to hear that Brittany has been found, sad to hear how long it took for certain aspects to react!! I am sincerely hoping that, in the difficult period that many were waiting, searching and wondering that they found good sources for help, information and the correct way to approach the missing person's approaches it is very sad and disconcerting to know many still do NOT know who and where to go to in these very difficult times of crises!!!
