I knew this girl. She wasn't exactly on the same level as a normal person but i didn't think she would do something like this. She dropped out my junior year in HS. I'd ask her brother wtf she was doing but he doesn't know either.

OK first of all I just want to say shame on all of you for speaking about her like this. She was a very good friend of mine and Im extremely hurt to think that people would sit here and bash on her. Yes she had family problems and yes it was a suicide. But still there is no need to sit here and say these things. She wasnt on drugs and she had no mental problems. The holidays tend to get to people. and unfortunately it got the best of her. What pisses me off the most is the person who hit her first. How dare you drive off!!! What the hell were you thinking? Have you no common sense or remorse? What if this happened to one of your friends/family?
My deepest sympathy goes out to her family and friends.
You will always be in our heats Melissa. We loved you dearly.
You say you were a very good friend of Melissa's. Be careful that you mention suicide. Were those her words verbatim???
If yes, than how dare you not contact one of her parents or family with those concerns? If it was a cry for help, than you as adult had the responsibility to help her...if you cared for her so much. I blame you and others who knew her so well, not to reach out, seek professional help or keep her safe. In my eyes, you contributed to her death. Had she gotten help or been able to reach out, perhaps she may of been able to mend her own heart and saw the potential she had in her future.
Perhapsthe parent she lived with should of also gotten help for her instead of sacrificing her life.
What comes around goes around..so be careful what you wish for.

I knew Melissa very well, in fact, I saw her two days before she died, and had plans to chill with her that Friday. I'm heartbroken that she died. She would never kill herself. To all you F**ks that said she shouldn't have been walking there, guess what, she had a crappy freaking car and it probably broke down and thats the most likely reason that she was walking, and the other side of where she was was about 5 mins from the CENTER of Meriden, not the middle of nowhere. That bastard who didn't stop should die a painful death. If you didn't know her don't say sh*t about her please.
RIP Cahill I miss you.

It all starts with BAD Connecticut drivers. You people demonstrate the fact that you have no clue what goes on beyond the dashboard. You are inept, unskilled, rude, classless, mannersless and absent minded when behind the wheel of a car. Also, you cannot just walk anywhere in CT. When the terrain is covered with big box stores and strip malls everywhere you look. The Gov. has it wrong. it is NOT truck drivers and teenagers or drivers from MA, NY or NH. All the idiots I see behind the are adults with CT license plates on their vehicles. I am often baffeled when I see/hear that someone was pulled over for drunk driving. How the heck can you tell the difference between a sober CT driver and a drunk one? I have no clue as I am sure the police are. Most people in CT need drivers education and ettiquette lessons. Happy Happy.
WOW pF. your a DUMB***..you LIVE IN CONNECTICUT!.. and why dont you go look at every state in the ***damn UNITED STATES..this kinda stuff happens EVERYWHERE NOT JUST IN ONE PLACE. AND I LIVE IN WALLINGFORD. SHE WAS WALKING IN THE LANES AT NIGHT SO ITS NOT SURPSISING SHE GOT HIT BY A CAR!

it would be sad to say suicide but being one of her close friends i would not put it past her but all together melissa was a truly amazing person she cared about everyone. she was smart funny and she wrote amazing poetry. i hounestly belive that cops dont care, this isnt any csi shit they dont care if your friends ben killed this is not a telivison show. they are not gonna waste there time. so stop talkin about bad drivers its a cops job to figure out what happened and they failed. to them its just another unsolved case.

CT drivers are the worst in the northeast. I love going to NY and Mass, I feel safe there
