I honestly can't think of the last night that I did NOt see a firetruck parked there. I don't know about you, but $600+k for pizza delivery seems a little steep to me!!! Firefighters like their pizza sticks, that's cool with me.

They sound like Miron kinda people. Birds of a feather.

The truck I wanted had a bread warmed and pizza oven built it. The guys would just have to get the bread dough

Stella's in Oronoque is also good. They also have a coupon that comes in the mail. If each guy on the shift brings in a coupon they could save some big money.

Too Many goodies wrote: What are they buying, a fire truck or lots of equipment? By loading up the truck with non-truck related equipment instead of bidding out the equipment seperatly, they have inflated the price. It was approved to purchase a firetruck, not all the goodies the FD wants. This should go to the council! This is a great start for the new fire chief! Obviously you are someone that does NOT have a clue what is going on. It appears that the FD went out to bid for a truck and some equipment and hose for this truck.

On weekends go down to BJ's. They usually set up the samples by the freezer section. There were times I made a whole meal out of this. The ladies who had it out are really nice.

...."That number always seemed very low to me, but that's because the specifications did not include many of the latest equipment needed for a new rescue pumper," said Cavanaugh. "The one we are now recommending is a state-of-the-art rescue pumper that includes the Jaws-of-Life extrication system."....
state of the art?$163,000 more than the first set of specs, the same equipped trucks,$163,000 more this time? you have got to be crazy! there is no way the price increase should be this high!(BY THE WAY CHIEF, THE FIRST BIDDER DID HAVE A COMPLETE HURST EXTRICATION SYSTEM & ALL OF THE OTHER EQUIPMENT INCLUDED IN THE $507,000 PRICE)
cut out the hidden costs...town hired lawyers, consultant fees (consultant had to rebid his first try), did I mention the lawyers-that is lawyerS with an "s".

Great choice for a fire chief that has to rely on a consultant to tell him his needs! could buy two for that price. Mayor Moron and his appointments need to be voted out!

In case anyone really wants to know, Cybart was NEVER found guilty on the mis-conduct chages (as stated in this article) or any other charges for that matter. The actual 200 page report never stated that at all. Another reporter at the Post read the entire investigative report and wanted to print "the truth" but the story was scrapped. It wouldn't "sell" papers was the excuse they gave. The whole fiasco was just a way for Miron to get rid of yet another department head who wouldn't bow down to him.

in fairness to the new chief the consultants were picked with out a bid back in early january before he arrived. And if the truth could be told he dump the process and buy 2 regular trucks instead/stay tuned the saga continues.
