Superintendent of schools could leave for Walled Lake
Last June, the Lake Orion Board of Education thought it had Superintendent Ken Gutman for three more years when it passed his current three-year contract, 4-2. Now, just three months later, Gutman could be leaving the district for good.

I hope that the LO Board can find a way to break his sweetheart(bill walters)contract extension and let the deceitful, conniving, superficial scoundrel get back to his family regardless of whether he gets the Walled Lake job or not.

Ken Gutman has done a great job for the Lake Orion school district since the day he first took over as the principal at Scripps Middle School.
He has the right to advance, just as you and I do.
The program is in place for Lake Orion. The next superintendent will be selected, partly, by his or her willingness to see Lake Orion finish the vision set by the Board and Mr. Gutman.
Our board will once again select someone who will continue to have, as Mr. Gutman did, the students of Lake Orion's best interest as their driving force.

Gutman has not done a great job for LO, getting rid of and shifting principals that are well liked by staff, students, and parents because they dare to disagree with him is NOT something you do if you are working in the best interest of the students. Nor is hiring less qualified out-of-district administrators when there are excellent candidates within LO who know the schools, parents, and students. I hope Walled Lake gets him and the board hires someone that is hired with more than a 4-3 majority.

I just hope that the Board will be much more wise in selecting a Superintendent. We need someone that is one with the students, not the administration. Kids are the future, so they should be treated with the up most respect. Politics corrupt the best of us. The new superintendent must not have any experience with politics. If he/she is, then we can kiss our kids' future goodbye.

Maybe for once, the board should have someone that knows what they are doing! Stop bringing the suits and start bringing the people that know what's going on.These board members need a leader that knows, you know?I mean that person needs to give orders and not take them. The superintendent needs to be the MAN/ woMAN. They are the ones to wear the pants not the board(metaphorically speaking of course).

What?! No, the superintendent must be an ambassador for the students. He must represent them on the board. The children are the ones to have a voice, not these random politicians. Government has no right to be in education, especially tyrants that would take over the board! Yes Gutman being gone is not bad at all, but he's was not the only problem. We need to replace the whole board!
