Novi residents' input on Landings sought

Jul 14, 2009 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Detroit Free Press

Novi officials are asking residents for input on how best to use the city-owned property commonly called 'the Landings.' The property, which is at the northeast corner of South Lake Drive and Old Novi Road, is about 11 acres and has frontage on Walled Lake.

Leave the property as is! It is a nice view of the lake! What is up with this council? All they do is spend, spend, spend all of our tax dollars!

With the expected decline in tax revenue and the definate appeals of assessments next year, nothing whatsoever should be done on that property. If it aint broke, dont fix it!

Do nothing with the landings.
It is too close in proximity to 3 quiet peaceful residential neighborhoods.
If any thing is built there it would most likely be accompanied by a parking lot. If you have a parking lot then you have to have an electronic noise ordinance, & modified exhaust system ordinance just like all other peaceful park community's have had to do, due to inconsiderate morons with excessive car radio's & subwoofers, modified exhaust systems, and it has to be posted, and it has to be enforced.
The lot would also require a locking gate, hours of operation, maintenance, entry fee, booth operator, extra police patrol, lighting, liability insurance, and on and on.....
I enjoy the landings in its current state.

But what if wal mart wants the landings, I'm sure they could make the small area work if they just build out over Wal-lake. Wal-marts motto 'You will be assimilated, resistance is futile'. Thank you, come again, but let me check your receipt and items before you leave.
