Of all the prison's in the state McNeil may be the toughest to get to for deleiveries. But..it houses more sex offenders, has fewer escapes, id much more easily accessable for families to visit, and has closer access to emergency medical facilities than Clallam Bay. Having visited most of the prisons in our state, Clallam Bay has by far the most over- abundence of staff. The majority of the time the staff are making up violations on the inmates to place them in segregation where it takes fewer staff and they still are standing around doing little or next to nothing. Granted Monroe had too many staff, but the majority of the inmates are medium security. It costs more to ship inmates, materiels and transport staff to Clallam Bay then anywhere else. Why isn't Clallam Bay scheduled for evaluation and closure?
