Good ...... See ya later !

Just anouther example of corporate greed !

Since that is located on a Battlefield, are we going to see the NO-Casino Group step in and try to preserve such hallowed ground or will they stand back and see yet anouther business come in and degrade the hallowed ground ?
OH NO

It's not located on hallowed ground. If is were I'm sure it would have never been built in the first place. Just because something is located south of town doesn't mean it is located on hallowed ground. This word "hallowed" ground is for the birds. Just mis-using the word for attention and excuses. I guess my house should be torn down because I built on the so-called HALLOWED ground.

Awww, I will miss the Boyds Bear store...although I couldn't afford to purchase much up there. When my daughter was younger, she had the privilege of making one of the bears and "she" still sits on her bed today (as a older teen)! I used to love to see how they would decorate things for the different seasons and the cute little names and all for the "animals".

More importantly that the pleasant visits every one has had to the place, what about the displaced employees? I do hope they are all able to find work soon.

And the building that will now sit vacant for how long?

its sad to see it close, i use to work there about 3 years ago. it was a blast, but you can def tell greed took over and it was no longer fun to be there. it's a shame corporations can't just leave things alone...what happened to the saying, if its' not broke don't fix it"? things were great, then their "goal" of opening up a boyds bear in every state backfired and look where it got them...$ hungary ppl...:(

We can hope. Though I am sure Mrs Paddock will have an objection to it!

It is still listed as up for sale. No one knows at this point what will happen. I also heard that rumor and also heard a local investor was interested. Only time will tell.

If we all pool our bucks,, Maybe we could buy it & put a club in there,, Then we would'nt need a casino, because we could have plenty of gambling & hide alot of cash ,,& then we would be rich like a couple of clubs i know of!! GO CASINO!!!!

It's a shame that such a beautiful place has to leave us. I recall wonderful memories of my sisters & I visiting there. We went there during Christmas time one year & the Santa Claus display was just like the one in A Christmas Story. I thought it was wonderful! I hope the employees find other work. I think Boyds Bear Country brought much happiness to young & old alike.
