I cant believe most of the comments on here. The ignorant people who can bring this terrible thing to a political view obiously dont know how to have an origianl though other than thier narrow minded politial views.
As for the people talking about worring about the quality of the bat(BASH). I hope you get an un curable STD.
Really Border patrol, that is all you can come up with? I bet you are late for your NRA convention. Loser.
There are more sides tot this story that the media doesnt know. they just post a halF @ss written story. is time for whiny children to go to bed. You show your vast maturity with your "hope you get an STD" comment. Very nice.

Welcome to the fray.

You all should go to the website at Dakota county and get the detailed report on this situation I think you will have a much different opinion when you look at the police report especially if you have a child and wife in the house during this episode....

I realize we have this great thing called freedom of speech however, it saddens me to see people such as Jeff T., BearManNorth, DFLer, Yep, J Adams, Border Patrol, Bah Humbug, Common Sense, JCT, Mad Jack, Thissucks, BillB St. Paul, and An American to use this Tragedy to exercise their political agendas or critique the writing of the article. You are correct Jon when you say "I don't think we got the whole story, yet."

Josh was a wonderful husband, son, brother, and friend. Chuck was equally a great friend to Josh, husband, father, son and friend. Something happened early in the morning of March 16th that caused the death of Josh. Josh was a happy individual looking forward to his future with his wife. No matter what the altercation man deserves to be beaten with a bat or any other kind of object. Josh will be very much missed. There were two losses in the story...the death of Josh and Chuck's wife and daughter have lost a father and husband due to the fact that Chuck will be facing many years in prison. Josh and Chuck had the same circle of friends. Those friends are morning the loss of two friends. This is a tragedy. Through time and court proceedings the truth will unveil itself and questions will have answers. My deepest sympathies to the Skare family!! You are in my prayers.

This is a tragic story and I very seldom make posts in these types of stories because they are such hurtful and raw situations, for all parties involved.

Not referring to this particular situation, but looking at this type of news story in general, the reason people bring politics into it is because invariably the government will do the same thing. Case in point: This is a tragic story involving a disagreement between two private parties. Invariably the government will involve themselves into the situation and say that MN needs to invest more in early childhood development to stop this in the future, have more police in that area, invest more into education in high schools to teach more violence education, etc. Some will say the government was at fault for not providing enough of these services, and others will argue that the government already has enough services in place. I'm not proclaiming a particular view for or against anything. The only reason I'm writing anything is that, no matter your political view, politics ultimately does get brought into these types of stories. That's just the way it is, like it or not or agree with it or not.

In any event, back to this particular situation, my condolences go to both families. This is hurtful for everyone.

So what's your deal "Friend?" I commented that I've never had the desire to cave-in my best friends skull with a ball-bat, and you refer to that as a "political agenda," or "writing critique?" Guess again Bozo. It is what it is, and my statement stands! It's sad that someone is dead, but it didn't have to be. Your best friend DOES NOT beat you to death, no matter what "the whole story" is! "With friends like that who needs..."
