Another darn shame.
These kids (and I'm talking about the young man who died of alcohol poisoning, too), were going to make something of themselves, and it all got cut short.

Condolences to the families of both young men.

We have been losing a lot of college students lately. The fire that killed the USC students. Was it a clemson student that fell out of window? A student dies of alchohol intoxication and now this one from a wreck. So sad.

I myself am a bike rider and I have noticed that this state does not enforce a helmet law. I am orinally from Tennessee and they enforce the helmet law there. I think this should be the law every where I do not know if this young man was wearing a helmet or not but if he was the turn out might have been different. I know that helmets save lives because one saved mine.

This was obviously the kind of young man our state cannot afford to lose.
This is a tragic loss to our society as a whole.

Amen! We rode in the Vet ride Sunday and the "motoring" public has NO RESPECT for a motorcycle!! Although, I know some of the motorcycle riders have no fear or respect either but watch out for us. A motorcycle can't match or stand up to a car!!!

I taught Ralph in 4th grade at North Springs Elem. He was a wonderful student. Ralph always worked so hard in school to achieve. He was a great musician too!. Ralph always helped me before and after school with cleaning my room, putting books out, and helped me to pack up my classroom at the end of the year. He will always be in my heart forever. This is a student, with the support of his wonderful family, that was academically successful and was going places. He had a kind heart and will be missed!

He was wearing a helmet....and we don't care how the laws are in Tennessee...in SC it is freedom of choice, and that being said, I choose to wear my helmet.

I don't know if this will come through, but R.J. Pinnock was nothing less than one of the most outstanding young men that this side of Richland County can claim. I knew him as a very young man and as he grew he blossomed. I am very heart broken of his untimely death. I weep with saddness.
Whoever wrote those ugly things about a gang relation....go to Clemson and major in Chemical Engineering and then get back to me. I knew him. You didn't.
He was also a most accomplished violin player, excelled at Spring Valley in academics as well as sports. He was a great kid and my heart is broken.

I went to Spring Valley with RJ and was horrified to hear of his passing. He was not only a great student in the classroom but was a role model for all students. The peace sign and smile he is giving in his picture sums up his personality. He is one that always smiles and loves to make people happy. Please pray for his family and friends, especially the cyclist that had to watch his best friend be called home way too soon.

Pinnock turned down athletic scholarships to study chemical engineering at Clemson... Shame, this kid had some intellect and a future.
