Wonderful upbringing does not ensure success in life. Good decisions do.

It happens all over the country. These young men go off to college (young women are just as bad) thinking Mom and Dad are no longer around to police what they do, they think they can sneak anything by the local law enforcement agencies then behave as though they did not have had enough common sense to ever leave home in the first place!

People, even young people, need to be responsible for their actions and decisions. Don't understand why the two Clemson students were charged. The didn't make the fool drink himself to death. The young man needed to have used better judgement. I'm truly sorry that he lost his life, but he made a really bad decision which cost hoim dearly. Speaking as a older man who has experienced drinking in college as well. You have to understand that when your body says no, it means no.

Alcohol poisoning is a common error in many teens and young adults. I'm sure if you asked your average teen how much alcohol will kill you none of them would answer correctly unless they have dealt with alcoholism before. Better knowledge to our youth on alcohol would help. Alcohol is the gateway drug, not pot. My condolences to the family for their loss. Perhaps alcohol free campuses and expulsions would ensure the drinking would stay to a minimal on campus

I hate to bust your bubble but alcohol free campuses is not going to solve anything. All that will do is increase the drunk driving fatalities. There is a point where people have to become responsible for their actions. I admit this is a hard way to learn that but that young man mad very bad choices. The reason some are being charged is because they broke the law of buying and transporting liquor to a minr not because he died. One can only hope this incident opens the eyes of some of college students across the country.

Every teenager should have to read the book "Smashed". I just finished reading this book awhile back and it made an impression on me and I wished it had been something I could have read when I was 14 or 15 years old. Keep your kids involved!!!!
