My name is Margaret McFadden. I have lived in Waldorf, Maryland for 9 years and last night had to be the worse for me. I was stalked and harassed by the Charles County Police department. They sat outside my home for several hours yesterday, I left my home at approximately 730 pm last night to get gas and take a friend to their vehicle. I watched this unmarked, tinted black Chevy Alero drive around me, sit across the street from me. After I got my gas, I decided to pull up right next to this vehicle, I rolled my window down and asked what the problem was, the four officers put their heads down. I then pulled off and proceeded north on 301, this unmarked car decided to follow me some more and soon put his lights on to pull me over. I asked the officer why was he stalking me and why was I being pulled over, he stated "your brake light is out", pretty suspicious, my brake light was working fine all day, I work on a base and if anything was not working properly on my vehicle, you get automatically told about it. I was irritated and I was far from polite, I told the officers that they must have been really bored to be stalking and harassing me for no reason. When they took my license and registration, I asked them to give me all of their badge numbers and names when they were done, which they never did. Within five minutes of being pulled over for "a brake light", the K-9 drug unit shows up, the officer approached my vehicle and told me he needed to search my truck, I had no objections to this, but did ask what this nonsense was about, I do have government decals on my vehicle so why the hell would I have drugs in my car. This is a serious case of boredom on Charles County's finest part, they found nothing and looked like idiots. I plan on filing a formal complaint, but I also wanted to make others aware of this situation. Charles County Police Department obviously has too much time on their hands if they need to stalk a federal contractor that has a high level security clearance, I am a veteran of the US Navy. I volunteered to serve in Iraq from 05 to 06 to make my country a safer place, why would I tarnish a country I just fought for and this is the thanks I get, get stalked by a bunch of assholes that had no idea what the hell they were doing.

Never surrender your constitutional rights for any reason. If they have to ask you for your consent to search, that means they have no probable cause. If they did have probable cause, they would merely tell you to get out of your vehicle...not ask to conduct a search.
File a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request for all reports, radio transmissions, and dash cam footage.
