It is really nice to read the daily globe every day, but for the record is almost daily reports of theft and vandalism in ironwood between 10 pm and 4 am almost every night. but on the other hand the local law sits in holiday for hours on end all through the night. there has been video recordings of as many as 7 police cars in that gas station nightly, for over 2 hours in one night between midnight and 4 am. ironwood gogebic and state police not to mention hurley city squads sitting there. you should all be fired on the spot. all you do is sit there and run your mouths about people who walk in and out, ya its a small town but this has to stop. as for hurley, as a sworn in officer in wisconsin wait till there is a severe emergency in hurley wi and you are hammin it up at holiday in MICHIGAN and you are seconds late, as tax payers and citizens we do not deserve dead beats like that. when the 911 dispatch asks for your location all the officers sitting at the same coffe table give different locations to dispatch. witch is also an record thanks to a portable scanner while the camera is rolling on each of the officers. for all the law enforcement in this small town LOTS OF CRIME due to the fact it looks like a police dept at holiday gas station in ironwood michigan all through the night.

So what are you going to do about it? Crying on the internet does nothing! You sound like a little homo that tried to be a cop but got turned down!

Typical Bullsh%t from someone who got busted for speeding, or knows someone who once upon a time got a ticket for 2 miles per hour over the limit.

Mercer loon is right, if you have an issue take it up with the respective Departments not lumping all the cops into a group on this site.

Although unpopular, cops do get breaks, and sometimes there are few places open to do just that. I'm sure if they went to the Police station people would complain they were hanging out there too.

Catching crimes in progress is pure luck. Thefts and vandalism is a crime of opprotunity. Lock your car doors and turn on some lights. Oh ya... call the police when you see something suspicious ... when you see it, not two days later at Annette's Gas Station.

take it to the state level for anything to be done...try reporting to the attorney general and ask why your tax dollars are not being put to work---they (police) are public servents---WE hire them---take some pictures with times on the photos and send them to the Attorney General

All too often individuals complain and nothing seems to ever get done...keep in mind that in reporting disturbing facts...facts may potentially be covered by the very entity that should be investigating...knowledge is power...you purchase the police through your tax dollars...so...take pictures of your purchase...make copies of reports made gone "unheard" and send everything to the attorney general...my guess...watch them all have to work like we do

Mazie, seriously three seperate posts that amounts to what...Dear Attorney General our Cops are drinking coffee and talking smack about people in our town instead of patrolling..... wahhhh!!!

Really, that big of deal huh? Pssst I bet if you check, your local Firemen are washing their cars in the station too.

I would also suggest anyone who really thinks it would be wise to openly snap pictures of your local cops, might want to rethink that unless of course their car is in perfect working order, you know legal. All lights working, use of signals, stopping behind the white line.... you get the Picture...

There is a right way and a wrong and dangerous way of approaching this subject.

Well I know for a fact that the cops do not sit there every night. And I also know that they do not sit for long. I see them drinking some coffee, and then leave. They are allowed breaks just like everyone else. They are up when normal people should be asleep. I would like to ask the people on here just how pathetic is your own life when you first of all have the time to spy on the cops? And aren't you happy that they don't sleep in there cars like I've seen in bigger cities? I think you get pissed because they have a good job, and maybe you should get one yourself. There is no way you could put yourself through college, and have a job, and still be tracking the cops every night. Grow up. Siren chaser, that's all you are.

Hey "Sick of IPSD", why don't you:
#1- go back to school because your three years in 9th grade didn't help.
#2- run out of town scared like the rest of your low-life family with no jobs.

well congrant to ironwood for winding up on the goveners desk.. looked good on the news last week down state..See the problem is that gogebic county is over run with police..
Way to many complaints flooding lansing..
Looks soon to be that cut backs are going to slam dunk in the gogebic range.. Also there are 2 more prison closings coming and the first will be feb 15 2011
gogebic and state police will be running Ironwood soon. To many paper trails lead to ironwood for WASTEFULL spending and corrupt grant holding.
Whats even worse is watching the recreation officer idle his truck on taxpayers money at a snomobile event while he watches it.
It is the small things like that, that his the
attourny generals desk..
Even the city that slacks off and lets the roads go with out plowing and sanding. like he said on the news there will be a show cause hearing for answers soon to come.
If its proven that grant money is held and there is a fatal due to road conditions while they are sitting on grant money.. Bad news for a state
lawsuit. But from the video clips Ironwood taxpayers get to pay for shutting down ironwood for a ski race on mainstreet!!
Who pays for the trucks to haul the snow??
who pays the drivers.
whos dump trucks were used.
who pays the fuel..
TAXPAYERS>>>
Word says ironwood got stimulus money and it went for a miners memorial trail.. How long do you idiots think its going to take before the big band saw comes for ironwood.
And cuts the nuts off your corrupt ideas and ways.
News says revenu is down this snowmobile season up north.. Motels are suffering exc exc..
Special thanks to your recreation officer running every quad and sled dowm like armed robbers,,
They are not coming back to gogebic county..
And the paper trail gets longer..
Trust me they will be looking into where the problem starts when the state wants there money..
Norrie park was givin to the tax payers of ironwood and the public. Now you take it away for ski trails where ABR x country gets to charge for people to get on the trails..
SERIOUSLY.. my god.
So many issues up north.. Way to many irate taxpayers kicking in the door down here looking for help to get control back within reason.
Nice area up in gogebic county but face it..
You can try to turn it into a retirement ski village, but good luck
the state will sit back no longer and ignore everyone no more, and let 7 people run a town the way they want it..
SO GO AHEAD AND COMMENT THAT ALL THIS IS A PIPE DREAM>...
just mark it on the calender now..
And start looking for the future of a new IRONWOOD>.
