Sad story. Jim was a very bright lawyer, hard working and a straight shooter. I don't know what happened to him. Looks like his life got way out of control. This is a real loss.

Multiple drug charges, both roids and oxycontin. I wonder how many people he put away for drugs? Was he a druggie while on the job? He will have fun in prison, hopfully he can bunk with someone he convicted, or one of the ex middlesex county sherriffs, or with the ex middlesex head of probate.

It is obvious, drugs will bring you down every time. I feel bad for his children as they are now orphans.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim for several years and I can tell you he was a very bright, dedicated and talented attorney. It pains me to see that his life took a wrong turn. Very, very sad.

Interesting that Lisa Redmond and The Lowell Sun 'humanizes' this man at the end of the article and gives us a possible reason why Tamagini did what he did.

The typical Lowell Sun coverage consists of one-sided accounts that sensationalize a persons crimes and completely ignores the possible reasons behind them and/or the defense they presented against them. In this instance, the 'right' thing is done, and Tamagini is cut some slack.

Too little too late, however. The Sun has become so inconsistent, that (when i read it) I'm no longer sure what is truth and what isn't. The result? I usually don't read it!

ATTY** will rot in his prison of ignorance and judgement. Jim once judged people like himself and now look what has happened. One thing that I have learned through all of this, is that NONE of us is above a tragic turn; that is what this is.
Jim's children are not orphans, as they are part of a large family that loves them and cares for them-they are amazing. Thank you to anyone who has written with dignity about my brother, his character, and his work. This will not be his last word.
To anyone here who has never suffered the depredations of addiction, may you never know such humiliation and pain.
