Cardinal Insurance is a total Rip Off
I have had Scott as my Home Insurance Agent Since 1971
I am Paying him $2,556 a year for Replacement Coverage
This year my coverage was increased from $166,000 to $169,000
to Reflect the current construction cost. I also Pay
Cardinal Insurance $16,900 for other Structures which
they do not list and $118,300 for personal property and
$637.00 in Additional Premium Also not listed or Identifed.
My public protection class was changed from 4 to 3
to reflect current fire protection as defined by the
Insurance service office(ISO)
My Roof is warped and leaks. I asked Cardinal Insurance
to fix my roof. Scott sent A Safeco Insurance adjuster
to look at the roof. He saw the water stains and the smoke
marks that was caused by the water that leaked out of the
light in the upstairs bedroom. He said the roof was last
worked on in 1995 and all he could do was paint over the
water and smoke stains on the ceiling, but nothing to fix
the leaking roof or the wet wireing damage.
Why am I paying Cardinal insurance for Coverage if they
are not going to do any repair when something needs repaired.
I have made a complaint to the insurance Commision and got
a law suit that will be filed against Cardinal Insurance
as soon as I get back to my other home in Washington DC.

I know a little about insurance. I looked at my policy and my home is insured for $240,000 and I am only paying $1204 a year. Full replacement. This covers shed, fence, patio cover, etc. We also have $180,000 in personal property coverage and $300,000 in liability insurance. Junction City is a town class 3. Do your research, insurance rates are based on credit, deductible and condition of the home. I guess you strike out on all three.

Obviously you haven't taken care of your home, since you said you have been paying since 1971 and your roof is 18 years old. You have gone over the life of a normal three tab shingle roof and done nothing about it. You want the insurance company to take care of something you should have taken care of yourself.

Insurance commission doesn't file law suits. This will probably cost you more in attorney fees and court costs than putting the money in to fix your home. Quit whining and be a "RESPONSIBLE" home owner and take responsibility.

Rip off I do not put a new roof on something that is not in need of a new roof. When I have the insurance I expect it to be used for what it was ment to do not for just to say I got a new roof. If You use your insurance when it is not needed you will pay big prices. Cardinal is taking peoples peoples money and providing no service. I own houses in many ststes I only stsy in the kansas house when I wast to get away from Washington DC. We will see if we can convince my fellow to send Less money to this area in the future. I believe you should get what you pay for and Cardinal Insurnce needs to Have an IRS Audit to account for all the money they take in Contracts.

Obviously you ARE in need of a new roof if it is leaking, causing wire damage and ceiling damage. Maybe if your traveled a little less and owned fewer homes you could afford to put a new roof on.

You are trying to use your insurance because you said they were going to paint the spots on the ceiling and not fix the wiring. File a claim, get higher rate, buy a roof out of pocket - rates don't go up on isurance. Convince who ever you want, once a deadbeat always a deadbeat. Looking for the insurance company to bail you out on not taking care of your home. It is called - MAINTENANCE.

In your first post you said your roof is warped and leaks. In this post you say you do not put a new roof on something that is not in need of a new roof. So you believe a new roof is only needed when the roof is warped and leaks and at that point you believe the insurance company should replace the roof you failed to maintain until it is warped and leaks. Did I get that right?

You said you had a warped roof. This is caused by water getting in somewhere. This shows that you have not taken care of your home. Don't expect someone to open their wallet and help you, open your own wallet and pay for it like you are suppose to.

A warped roof does not happen overnight. A warped roof happens over time. This is not covered by insurance. It is covered by "neglect". So take money out of your pocket, suck it up, and get the roof fixed.

Don't expect an insurance company to pay for your stupidity.
