Estherine Davis and ElectriCities Issues

Estherine King Davis, chief lobbyist for Electricities, established a reputation in Raleigh for getting absolutely anything she wanted out of (then) co-Speaker Richard Morgan.
Richard Morgan lobbied Electricities to give her a pay raise. Richard employed her son as an intern in his office. Richard appointed her to several boards and committees, and pushed through every piece of legislation she wanted.
Ms. King is not from Moore County. Electricities does no business in Moore County. How did Ms. King, the super-lobbyist -- warrant all of this attention and special treatment from our – now former – legislator?
Richard Morgan is running now as a Republican for Supt. of Public Instruction. Ms. King is now a major figure in Barack (Hussein) Obama’s North Carolina campaign.
David Miner, a Morgan crony and fundraiser, is campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Richard Moore. Michael Weisel, Morgan’s former legislative staffer and current lawyer, is running as a Democrat for state treasurer.
Morgan tells us he’s a good Republican, but the reality is that he is neck deep and in bed with Raleigh lobbyists and Democrats.
Morgan claims a sudden interest in helping North Carolina schools, even though he has no kids and has never even volunteered in a public school. In May, let's vote to keep our public schools a Richard-free zone.
Richard Morgan just wants to restart the sleazy political business we – the voters – disrupted in May 2006. Richard Morgan’s political ambitions are putting our public schools and our children at risk.
In the May primary, just say NO – one more time – to Richard Morgan.

Estherine Davis got a 15% raise and a promotion in 2003 thanks to her pal Richard Morgan calling and pressuring Jesse Tilton to give it to her. No merit, no hard work. Great message for the other hard working employees at ElectriCities. Kind of makes Jim Black-Meredith Norris issue look lame.

I doubt Ms. Davis is a major figure in anyone's campaign, let alone Obama. She is a wanna-be and nothing more.
The ElectriCities lobbyists who were qualified and tough were Alice Garland, Jeannie Bonds, Ken Melton, Dan Crawford. Good credentials. They did not take threats from people. These people are threats to the miserly Jesse Tilton so they leave and he keeps the incompetents. Karen Johnson is his latest. He put out something that said she was a veteran public affairs professional when she was a lobbyist for one year, tops. Her claim to fame would be she was one of hundreds of women who dated legislators. I guess that is one way to get what you want. Still checking to see if she is connected to Morgan.

It would be well worth the effort to find out what exchanged between Estherine King Davis and Richard Morgan. How much did she wine and dine him; how much did Jesse Tilton wine and dine him; does she still wine and dine him (I have personally seen a photo of them snuggled together at Cappers in Raleigh after he was no longer a legislator - was this on ElectriCities' tab); how much "salary" did Jesse Tilton give Estherine King Davis to give Morgan.
These are well worth investigating before Richard Morgan runs for any office.

She was out trying to hold an event for OBAMA recently but that bombed. So the woman who loves Morgan who said she was a republican is now trying to help Obama. Weird.
She has been involved in two deal where she lied about her bosses, with the help of Morgan, and then three men (two recently) and three other women all left ElectriCities because of her harrassment. 75% turnover in her department. What gives? These other folks have strong credentials. Word on the street is that she is about to be sued big time. Perhaps we can all be lucky and Morgan will be sued with her.
p.s. She also got Rep. Drew saunders, a democrat, to make calls on her behalf as well. Makes you wonder about Morgan's shady alliances.

She was all over him every minute of every day. She had him speak up at a meeting in Wilmington where he went on and on ad nauseum about her. Bunch of junk. She had him call Jesse Tilton the CEO at ElectriCities to give her a raise. And, then Richard Morgan would tell her what to do and who to see. He even tried to tell her to get her boss to fire other people. If he liked someone, like Ms. Davis, he made calls on their behalf; if he didn't like them, he made calls to get people fired. Obviously he never knew he was crossing the line and actually could be sued for a tort.
Actually Richard employed her daughter, Alicia, as an intern in his office. Estherine pretended to be a Republican but registered as a Democrat so the Black Caucus would not find her out. Then, her daughter, a Republican, got a job with Beverly Perdue. What gives??
Ms. King is hardly a super-lobbyist though. But she always got her buddy to root for her. She can hardly articulate an issue. She just snuggles up to people like Morgan. She is not from Moore County. Electricities does no business in Moore County. True.
How did she get her attention from him? Facts will emerge.

Davis sent out an email about the event for Barak Obama and people laughed. She posted it on his web site too. What a moron to put her personal number out on it. But the biggest issue is none of her coworkers talk to her (they detest her) let alone discuss politics with her so they were never going anywhere she was going. Need not fear Obama is too smart to connect in any way to someone like Davis.

Cities must hold ElectriCities accountable

The recent City Council meetings should signal to all that something is very wrong in Wilson when it comes to our electric rates. It is time for City Council to hold ElectriCities accountable for spending and decisions. It is time for all 32 cities to hold them accountable. I hope Wilson will be the leader. ElectriCities needs to make cuts now.

We are paying 2 percent more on electric rates for a big financial mistake that people are paid too much to make. And someone made money off the mistake. But it was not us, the taxpayers.

In October 2003, Mr. Tilton, the CEO, made $328,328 and now he makes $458,000 and the board says he is underpaid. What did he do over five years to yield a $130,000 increase? Clay Norris makes $244,000 now and in 2003 he made $165,000, what did he do to earn an $80,000 increase? Estherine Davis earned $75,000 in 2003 and now makes $135,000, what did she do to earn a $60,000 increase? Is it just me or are these salaries and salary increases excessive?

This money could have been saved for a rainy day like the day we got when we were told of the rate increase. In looking at other executives in similar industries, these are excessive salaries. These are pertinent questions in light of soaring rates, and there is no sign that the board of directors is evaluating and making any cuts to the budget. Harris Plant was off line this month for 10 days. We get power from it. How much will that cost us? Another 2 percent increase this fall just before winter? But instead we hear Mr. Tilton talking about Washington. Our problem is in Raleigh at ElectriCities.

Rocky Mount reported legal bills at $647,000, but I got a letter telling me they were $1.1 million. How will we ever get the correct information in this coverup and fix this place. As a city, we need to demand a full accounting now.
