I think it's terrible for his wife and kids and though unexpected by those who know him, it has broken his family apart. The mother and father are in denial of what there son has done and would rather bring misguided guilt to his wife who has done nothing wrong.

I actually knew Jamie in High School and was floored when I saw him in the news. We have not kept in touch over the years but the boy I knew years ago would not have done this. I feel sorry for everyone involved; for his wife and children, for his mother, father and sister, and for the young girl involved. He was raised to know right from wrong and this was clearly wrong. I must say that in hearing this story, another teacher/student relationship, I want to know why these kids are not held equally responsible. Unless a young adult has a mental illness, every teenager knows that having a relationship will his/her teacher is wrong. America has forgotten about accountability. They should both be held responsible. I will pray for all involved and hope he turns his live around. He truly was an incredible person years ago. I hope he finds his way back. God Bless his wife and children may they come out of this stronger individuals.

America hasn't forgotten anything ... obviously YOU have forgotten its against the law for a teacher to have a relationship with a student. Regardless of ... anything.'God bless' his "wife" who most likely knew it was going on and did nothing about it. Do some research on the law before passing judgment on a young girl vs a 40 yr old man.

Jamie Aryes was my PE teacher when I was a freshmen at Wakefield High school and my Health teacher, I should have reported him for how he acted towards me! He was completely inappropriate, and unprofessional! He is such a creep, and I was uncomfortable to be around him. To this day and especially now that this is going on I still think about the inappropriate things he said and did to me. Just goes to show that karma and justice are real things. I hope this man never works around children again. I'm so sorry to his family, and I hope he's wife is careful with her daughter. Really thinking about those days give me the chills.

How horny was this guy to risk everything? How can you go out and cheat with an underage student and team member while your wife is home with a young child? What kind of monster could do this to his wife and child? They are the true casualties/victims in this case. The "victim" now has lawyered up and will walk away with a ton of money to be paid by the school board which as you know means paid by taxes which means paid by us. Once she receives her millions she will get over the fact that some old creep was hitting on her when she was under age. But the poor wife and baby will get nothing even though they have suffered as much if not more because this guy couldn't keep it in his pants. How about the victim shares her settlement with the wife and young daughter?

You are stupid!!! Don't attack that girl for getting justice on a sick pervert. After the years of innocence he took from her. So what if she gets money from this case she'll never get her innocence back. She's a teenage girl, she'll probably remember this for the rest of her life, that's a scar you can't heal. This whole thing is not about money, it's the fact that she was brave enough to come forward with what happened to her, and possibly prevent him from doing this to any other underage girl. On another note she probably helped some other scared victims of sex abuse by a teacher, by showing them that they don't have to be afraid to ask for help. For you to say something so insensitive and judgmental goes to show how much sense you have. Yes, it is sad what his wife and daughter are having to go through, but he obviously was not concerned about them when he was making a big mistake with this FOURTEEN YEAR OLD, so I can conclude that it's a blessing in disguise that he is away from them, for the fact that that he didn't care enough about them, and the fact that he has a daughter, whose to say he wouldn't (god forbid) do something to her. You don't know what is going through that girls brain! Maybe it's money, or maybe justice, but that is not up to you to decide. Leave her alone, and think before you post something so close minded and judgmental, or take the risk of ridicule.

I knew Jamie as well. Children are still being "lost in the system". Possibly someone should elaborate on the brain injury he suffered, as a result of a collision on the ballfield, which caused him to flatline twice and resulted in removal of part of the left temporal lobe. No, it's NOT an excuse, it's reality. Nothing was done to provide emotional and mental therapy after the injuries, which can affect social/emotional intelligence. As said, not an excuse, but the high profile news reporting didn't dig deep enough. That's all...
