I read the news a lot and I remeber when they first did an article on this building being turned into apatments and in that article they printed the requirements you would need to pass in order to rent there and one of them was a job, a certain annual income and absolutely no section 8 or renters assistance. I wish the press could reprint that article and the comments that were made then. One commenter said "it wouldn't belong before they let the riff raff in and soon it will be trashed." I guess they changed the rules right away. I wonder if they do a criminal background check on the renters.

Well Big Roy, why are you living in Wisconsin and taking jobs away from the Minnesotans that live and pay taxes HERE???? The heck with your bridge, you burb dwellers flee to parts unknown and then expect the taxpayers to foot the bill to build bridges and roads so you can zip in and out of the city. I hate conservative creeps that think we need to subsidize your way of life.
Hey stupid, WI workers who work in MN DO pay MN taxes. Time to educate yourself.

<quoted text>Do not divide this into liberal or conservative in an attempt to discredit extremely valid points in opposition to this development. Lower class housing does not belong in prime downtown commercial property. It does not generate revenue, it does not generate jobs and tenants will not be spending their dollars in the downtown area to make a substantial difference to local businesses. That is not conservative thinking, it is pointing out poor planning. The light rail will also run along University, where there is ample opportunity to house this development and where the price per square foot is a great deal less expensive.
St. Paul really needs to visit downtown Minneapolis to see what direction in needs to take to make it a vital, thriving, and sustainable downtown area. Is it any wonder St. Paul looks like a ghost town after 5:30 pm.
Prime downtown commercial property? That building was sitting empty. I live downtown and never experienced any street crime. Most of you are pretty out of touch.

I would suggest staying away from the gas stations then.

Don't worry, it's Duluth.
Burger King had a HUGE assistant management opportunity open up, and he couldn't refuse!!!
If your lucky I will offer you a job, it would be a step up from your solicitation of homeless bums on street corners, get you out of that little bopeep costume.
