Just sell some more land. Do it today, because tomorrow it will be worth less.

It's easy to run Matson, you just increase the fuel surcharge, then get your ships outfitted in China in disregard of the Jones Act, then scream foul when anybody else tries the same!

Time to retire Allen before your found out.

According to Doane:"The company remains on solid financial ground, and our core operating units continue to generate significant cash flow augmented by a multitude of cost-reduction programs and reduced capital spending."

this is why i don't see how top exec's deserve the millions they make running a company. if they're going to ride the tide of the economy then a monkey can sit in the ceo's chair and do just as good. now if a exec can pull off decent earnings in a challenging business climate then they are worth it but take a look most businesses and they just follow how the economy is doing.

The employees from the Puunene Mill on Maui are spreading rumors that the mill and sugar productions will be closing down pretty soon. Sugar is unhealthy and a money loser. I'm surprise this what you call managers don't see what is happening. Diversify your crops you idiots while the infrastruture is down. The mill is old, out of date, and just inefficiently runned. The last sugar production mill on Kaua`i closed for good. I guess the Native Hawaiians are fulfilling their dreams.
