I was there at the accident, we were 2 cars behind his. I want his family to know I jumped out of the car immediatly, and went to him, as did a couple surfers , we were the first people on the scene, i held his hand, talking to him just incase he could hear me the whole time until a fireman arrived and put his hand on my back to move, I didnt want him to be alone. Its great to see a picture of him. Please let the family know i am praying for them. I live in Longview, WA and am back home now, I will not forget that day.
My family and I all grieve for his family,
God Bless

I didn't know Corey personally, he was a dear friend/co-worker of my younger brother, who was close to both Corey and his wife. My brother mentioned Corey from time to time and I could tell he was a wonderful person from what I heard.
I wanted to tell you reading your comment touched my heart and that you are a guardian angel. In a situation such as yours on that tragic day back in Hawaii, I like to think that my heart and compassion would overcome my fears .... fears of witnessing such a horrific scene .... so that I could indeed reach out to someone in need as you did to Corey that day. I hope his wife and family are comforted knowing that his last moments here were touched by love and a true act of random kindness from someone as compassionate as you. Bless you, Monette..... aloha, Judy

Thank you for being there with him. I'm sure he was grateful to have somebody hold his hand in his last moments. We grew up and went to school in the same town with Cory. My brother is a very good friend of his wife and also worked with Cory for many years. They are all shaken and trying to support his wife Asa as best they can thru this terrible time. I know he will be in heaven looking over her and the baby they have planned to name Ava. Thank you again.

On behalf of Corey's friends and family, I would like to thank everyone that showed up at Kailua Beach, as well as those who were not able to make it, yet still were there in spirit.I know the Voss and Akamine families were very touched by the outpouring of love and respect everyone has shown them during a very difficult time. Our personal lives and the world in general are much more beatiful because Corey Dean Voss was part of it. Aloha, dave
