The bigger question is why Portuguese get mad when people think they Haole, yet Portuguese girls like to marry Haoles.
Ay, Minerva! So no make sense!
Actually, "The Club" in Hawaii is, by rank, Japanese, Okinawan, Hawaiian, Chinese, non-Hawaiian "Chop Suey," Portuguese, Filipino, and Korean (But if any are married to Japanese, then treated like Japanese, i.e. Billy Kenoi, Frank Fasi, and Ed Case, unless you have a Samoan first name--Samoans are always Samoan no matter who they marry).

Tokens accepted into The Club, by rank, are Jimmy Buffett, Jessie Colin Young, Chad Blair, Pierre Omidyar, Oprah, Don Horner, Neil Abercrombie, Kirk Caldwell, Mufi Hannemann, Rozanne Barr, and Sam Slom.

Tokens from anywhere may be allowed into The Club along the following parameters:
Do you have lots of money to bribe public officials?
Do you have lots of money that you are willing to give to charities?
Do you have sway over lots of foundation money that you are willing to push into Hawaii charities?
Are you a cool person who has charm, intellect, and embraces Hawaii as is without an expectation that you know better, and will never say, "How we did it on the mainland was..."

Tokens who buy an island thinking they are in, are never in. Tokens who fly in on private jets are likewise never in, except for Oprah coz she brown.

ps Notice that Micronesians, Tongans and Chamorros don't get mentioned. They can't get on the list yet--they have to work harder to earn it.
Thanks

Growing up in Hawaii I was honored to have many friends of many different races and cultures. We did not think anybody was any different or any better than each other. Thats the way local people are then and now. If you were born in Hawaii then you are a Pacific Islander. People that have found their way here through immigration and have adapted to local ways are in my eyes locals. Its the same if you were Haole, pake, filipino or whatever you may be if you love Hawaii and make it your home then you are a Pacific Islander. Thats what makes Hawaii the melting pot of the Pacific. I think this thread should not even be on this forum because it brings out the racist commenters. That folks is surely what we don't need.

Hawaii IS racist--against white people. It's the only place in the USA where the shoe is on the other foot.

I think in the United States, Pacific Islanders mean laid back, carefree, hospitable and exotically good looking. Filipinos are usually diverse and is fusioned with Island-Asian-Hispanic-American influences (and all the positives and negatives that go with it!)

Asian, has the stigma of being Chinese! Although rich, Chinese men have the stigma of having embarrasingly small penises (whose pubic hairs generally cover thier tool), and not very sexually appealling. The women have don't have any breasts or curves. Generally they aren't very attractive, have boring personalities, and only think of getting rich (honey, they'll sell their grandmother for profit).

Thank you...P.S., I'm black honey! So don't hate!

Sweetie, in terms of size and sexual appeal from Black, Western and Latina, women? Girl, it ain't the Chinese or Japanese honey! Remember, the darker the berry the sweeter the juice...sorry, but Chinese and Japanese men don't have big enough fruit between their legs to squeeze any juice. Filipino men not be "sophisticated" but do not have the reputation of having small penises like Chinese and Japanese men....

The Philippines aren't even in the Pacific, which makes this argument all the more hilarious. It's cultural hijacking and self-loathing that leads Filipinos to claim that they're anything but Asian, which is truly sad, but it is due to that colonial mindset that Europe spread everywhere, but Filipinos are the least proud of their ancestry and will fight hard to convince you of a front rather than accept themselves. Pacific Islanders comprise of three groups: Melanesian, Micronesian, and Polynesian. Filipinos don't fall into any of those categories, but they fight relentlessly to re-invent themselves and deter their negative image as being a hub of sex trafficking in Southeast Asia.

good point...now, Egypt, Morocco, and Libya are all on the continent of Africa. Would you consider them African?

Mexico, is on the continent of "NORTH" America. Would you consider them North American?
