That last poster is coming from a trash level. Like they say, if you can't say anything to help the forum, than shut your pie hole.

My advice is to stay away from them. Once you sign the lease they'll actually want you to abide by the rules, including that rent be paid on time. I've read stories right here on Topix about how they actually evict people simply for not paying their rent. What kind of monsters are they?
By the way dork *Splat*.

Lani Properties Are SlumLords!!!!!!!!!!

Lani Properties are SlumLords. Do not rent from them. Google complaints on line. I rented from them a few years ago. A rat infested home. Ruined all my furniture and even my wedding gown. We left when i became pregnant b/c they did NOTHING to fix window, screens, holes in floor, or get rid of rats. Our water heater literally Burst into flames, caught back porch on fire. They are crooks. Mr Ho in particular. Look it up yourself.

I've searched some consumer reports sites and looked up some public records and read some things, but has anyone on topix dealt with this company?
I'de hate to sign a lease and get burned some how. Does anyone know of anyone who has done business with these people? Any feedback good or bad would be appreciated.
Lani Properties Are SlumLords!!!!!!!!!! run as fast as you can. Any poster that backs them up is in bed with them.

LOL, I'm not in bed with them, I just like to fukkk with trolls. All's I ask for if PROOF any any of your bullshyt accusations. Show me ONE verifiable case of where tenants were evicted for no reason and their rent was paid up to date. Not this, "We were only three months behind but were going to pay tomorrow and they still evicted us," crap

I had friends who rented from them.
Many of their properties are substandard, but the building inspector pretends not to notice the violations.

Also, if the place is junk, they don't ask for a credit check. That's because they evict people and keep their possessions.
The contents left behind in those places is worth way more usually, than the junk buildings that they rent to their unsuspecting victims.

I've never come across an evicted tenant with anything left behind worth having.
Costs me thousands to get their crap hauled away.
The last ones had two months notices and yet left clothes in closets and tooth brushes in bathrooms.
Even left the new explorer just sitting there waiting to be repo-d.

Cars left behind on your property can be a problem if not handled correctly. The cops will say that you are responsible for it, and even responsible for towing charges and liable to suits because it's ON your property. I get around it by using my truck and dragging the cars out onto the easement or onto the road, then calling it in as abandoned. One time I left two cars in the middle of an intersection to get them towed faster. Sometimes you've gotta take drastic action. Another time I had a drug dealer's Cadillac crushed and shredded by a friend He never knew what happened to it. There are good reasons for doing so. The cars will be towed to the city contracted lot, so they'll be off the highways unless the deadbeats come up with cash, which is NEVER. Their car will be quickly auctioned or scrapped. They will make all sorts of frivolous damage claims, like they had their mother's diamonds in the trunk, but it's a civil matter between the no-loads and the city at that point. The city-contracted tower is exempt from lawsuits by law, they can't touch him. I know of one hardcase that insisted on leaving a nice BMW fronting a place after he was evicted, and it finally was burned to the ground and towed away the same night. A burned car MUST be removed by the fire department right away. "Good to know information" for any landlord that is having parking problems.

I can't make heads or tails of it. It says in ads on craigslist Avoid scams and fraud by dealing locally!... Please call Lani Properties Corporation, but it seems just like calling the fox to guard the hen house. Go figure.

Lani Properties will rent to anyone, ONCE. Just like any other property management company. Once you've screwed the Pooch, it's off to live in the bushes with you to live among the rest of the "unrentables."

My current landlord I've rented for 6 years and I love them, they are great and I haven't had any problems except for just minor repairs that we squabble over every once once in awhile, but we always get it fixed,
If you're looking at a property management company on the island, beware.
I've heard enough horror stories to keep posting all night. But the short of it friend, is to deal direct and cut out the middlemen.
Always do your research even still.
Oh! and by the way. Some of the people posting on here, are the very reason not to rent from them as they try to hide their seedy characters.
Good luck and stay safe.
I agree. My landlords are great too. We fell behind when my husband lost his job.
We didn't get evicted, they let us catch up. It took about six weeks and we're doing fine now.
I would never rent from a commercial landlord like that, they probably would have you out on the beach in seconds with your belongings ransacked by them.
Never rent from a 2nd party and always keep your communication and business relationship positive.

Until they show up using another name.
They know all the angles but their belongings usually belong to Rent a Center (or whatever).

LOL, Lolo, you are right again. One woman who I often write about just had her six-year-old daughter sign her rental application thinking she can't be found liable. She did it at Surfside, but had her kids taken away just two days ago. Yesterday she turned up positive for Meth. Watch for her, she's lookng for a new nest. Maybe you saw the commotion at Cornet's three day ago?

Commotions at Cornet are normal. LOL
But no I did not.
Something is odd here though. Constant ambulances and HPD racing around.

I heard there were around 30 hpd a few nights ago, around 11, on Farrington looking for expired safety checks.

Good. Expired safety check usually mean no insurance on the vehicle. If the cops had tow trucks with them it would mean something, but instead they just let the scofflaws drive off with only a ticket. The driver doesn't show for court and a bench warrant is issued. Someday he'll be booked and released, then he won't show up for court once more. Then, another warrant is issued and a year later he'll go to court and the case is dismissed or he'll receive "time served" That means he gets off after one night in jail. He's back on the road the next day. I had a talk with Maile Shimibukura one day about this and she told me, "Well, those bad drivers still vote, and their families vote. We don't want them mad at us."

You are lucky that you have great landlords. When you rent from good people it does make a difference.

I am a landlord myself and I have the belief system that, business should run more on good Christian principals, instead of only just chasing around the almighty dollar.

Good landlords attract good tenants, bad landlords attract bad tenants. We reap what we sow. Glad to hear that you were allowed the opportunity to get back on your feet. Our state is full of examples wandering the streets that weren't as lucky as you.

I knew a perfect example of this no license setup.
Went to court and judge suspended license for a year, the funny thing was he did not have one for years.
Good laugh for all at the judicial process here.
