I was going to rent a place, when a neighbor who lived nearby in the area warned me of the probable shady reputation of this property management company.

I've searched some consumer reports sites and looked up some public records and read some things, but has anyone on topix dealt with this company?

I'de hate to sign a lease and get burned some how. Does anyone know of anyone who has done business with these people? Any feedback good or bad would be appreciated.

My advice is to stay away from them. Once you sign the lease they'll actually want you to abide by the rules, including that rent be paid on time. I've read stories right here on Topix about how they actually evict people simply for not paying their rent. What kind of monsters are they?

Are you saying that we are actually allowed to evict people for non payment of rent? Even when the new Explorer looks so nice sitting there?
And the unit was vacant the week of the Vegas vacation, for church conference of course.

What about moving in 30 "family" members?
(with their non-running junk cars)

Letting water run causing thousand of dollars water/sewer bills?

What about breaking down doors and windows in order to prove their love for family member?

Please say it ain't so.

You NAILED IT, Lolo. Lani Properties probably was pissed about having their parking spots and lawns re-paved with carpeting for additional house guests or church members too, or having their water outlets used for car-washing "fundraisers" too. The BASTIDS!

Just last week I paid a lot of money to have many rolls of carpeting hauled off. It was about 5 inches thick. And you NAILED IT. Was the yard under the mango tree, covered and furnished with beds and tv and domino games.

Is it on your property? Is it still there? LOL, I saw a bunch of Samoans at the Convenience Center, and they were eyeballing some guys that were dumping rolls of carpet into the dumpster. I think they were waiting for him to leave so they could grab it, because their truck was empty and they were waiting for something. Admittedly, I was also thinking of snatching it for my garage and they beat me to it. Old carpet also makes excellent weed barrier.

Ive rented for over 37 years all over Oahu and Maui.

My current landlord I've rented for 6 years and I love them, they are great and I haven't had any problems except for just minor repairs that we squabble over every once once in awhile, but we always get it fixed,

If you're looking at a property management company on the island, beware.

I've heard enough horror stories to keep posting all night. But the short of it friend, is to deal direct and cut out the middlemen.
Always do your research even still.

Oh! and by the way. Some of the people posting on here, are the very reason not to rent from them as they try to hide their seedy characters.

Good luck and stay safe.

It was hauled off my property a week ago. But it was a larger truck and taken to regular landfill and later loads to Campbell.
In the future if there is another eviction you will have first chance at it. lol

I could not believe this merited all the coverage since most of the vehicles seemed driveable.
Sat. night there was a car completely rolled over at Keaau Beach Park.
No news coverage of it. State officials were out there for a fundraiser. But was not any of them.

Thee should be a DUI roadblock at the entrance of Keaau on the weekends Putting one it at Heco doesn't catch the local drunks that never leave the area. The real drunks are at Makua Cave.

Can't say I've done business with them since I own. However, they say scams are up because of the down economy.
When in doubt, don't go out. Hope this helped.

Truck driver, none of the posters here knows anything at all about Lani Properties, they are just making up stuff from some deadbeats that were evicted eight years ago for non-payment of rent. If you rent, you have a landlord, but the posters that criticize are most likely living in their parents' carports and probably don't even take out the trash.

I'm sure by your past postings on this and other topix threads that we can believe your credible reputation.
Of course, when trying to win in Vegas I usually ask the house where the lucky tables are before losing my azz.

I wouldn't rent from such a company if I had to rent be fore I bought my home. I had a friend who rented from a company like that and she had thousands of dollars in merchandise stolen from her.

Always rent direct to owner and even still, research the internet to see if anyone has had a hassle with them just to be safe.
