I dunno. Some of today's fashions appear to have a retro look... 70s... the colors especially. I remember A-line dresses, shifts, peasant-style and smock tops.

Did anybody know girls with single eyelids that used scotch tape to make double eyelids? I thought that was weird...

Diamond Head Festival in the 1970's. Stories my older sister experienced there that I will not put in print. HA!

Listening to her records:
The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Led Zeppelin, Yvonne Elliman, Fleetwood Mac, Loggins & Messina, Jessie Colin Young, Joan Baez, Tower of Power, Herbie Hancock, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Little River Band, Steve Miller, Boz Scaggs, Buddy Miles, Linda Ronstadt, Cecelio & Kapono, Kalapana, Bob Marley, War,etc.

My brothers surfboards from Surfboards Hawaii: A Bonzer and various Gerry Lopez, Lightning Bolt sticks.

Last but not least, my first car: 1975 Corvette Stingray, T-top, L82 engine, 2 dr., 4 speed manual, tag:$7,500.00 brand new, Dark Red paint. When it took me 55 minutes from Kawela Bay to Ward Avenue. Gas was in the low .50 & .60 price range per gallon.

Scotch tape to make double eyes!!
My cousin was the Queen of the scotch taped eyes! I even used to watch her prepare her lip tapes! HA!! Now she is in her mid 40ís and got her eyes done for the double lid look.
When my brother was a little boy he teased her about her tape on the eyes and she went after him like an angry cat. She had her Lee Press ON nails out and ready to scratch him!

Hey Kalehua... yeah! the Crater Festivals were good fun!

UH had Kanikapila in Andrews Amphitheater and that was good fun too.

The Law School and parking garage, tennis courts, Les Murakami Stadium, Stan Sheriff Center weren't built yet, so everybody parked in the quarry.

We CAN'T forget the FABULOUS FIVE!

Shakey's Pizza in Kaneohe used to play music on (I think) Saturday nights. I was too young to go, but thought it was the IN place to be.

Sheltered childhood!

Couldn't even watch Love American Style. HA!

Remember Scared Straight?? That TV special that was supposed to scare us in to a drug and crime free life? I got to stay up late to watch that. I guess it worked and did scare the &^%& out of me.

The drive-in theater in Kailua is now Le Jardan Academy.

Kailua Drive in had a great play area and an awesome snack bar. To save money my parents used to bring a box of Banquet fried chicken and musubis for dinner. I can remember smelling the chicken all the way to the drive in. Remember the metal boxes for sound that you would attach to the window of the car.
