Police to place up to 16 cameras in 3 areas to fend off criminals

Mar 24, 2011 Full story: Honolulu Star-Bulletin 68

Honolulu police and community leaders are hoping well-placed cameras will discourage criminals in Waipahu, Ewa Beach and downtown-Kalihi-Palama. The photographic cameras, which likely will be triggered by motion detectors, are being made possible through a grant from retail chain Target.

Some things they should do.
1. Get rid of the warning noise, why warn them? They are criminals, they don't warn us.

2. Actually arrest, prosecute and punish the criminals and vandals, something that is rarely done in Hawaii. A public caning would be the most effective.

3. Plaster the pictures on the TV news and in the newspapers so we can all laugh at and ridicule the punks, in addition to identifying them.

4. Put a camera behing Waianae Hardware store.

5. Don't use the word "ALLEGED" in the news. If they get it on film, you are GUILTY. Man up and punish them immediately. Why should we pay a lawyer?

Good, stay home.

Meanwhile, we have photos of burglars breaking into a home, loading up homeowners property and leaving. HPD told me that is not enough for the da to issue a warrant.

Lolo, I had a video tape of a shooting where a guy fired six rounds into a home from a .357 Magnum. First cop on the scene immediately recognized the punk as he had arrested him just the previous day. The punk got off for "lack of evidence." The punk's uncle was a Major in HPD.

Anyone for GPS chipping their teenage daughters? I just saw another young woman on the mainland has turned up missing, and am wondering if there is a company that could "Lojac" a human, or aren't humans worth as much as a BMW? It would be nice to see these abductors caught instead of killing young women, think?

They should place one of these cameras outside your home so we can get some evidence of the abuse that your doing to those foster kids. Showing them how to deal with animals that stray into your yard by shooting them is not the type of person we want as a foster parent.

Cameras are good bad people go to parks and parking lot or get camping permit . Parks campgrounds here not like NYS.more undercover cops and enforce stricter time . Hawaii low standards way over praised.Crimanal state crimanal minded Hawaii is These are people that get notice what a shame.

No-one cares what "You" want, least of all me. But I'll think of you this morning as I set my traps. You'd should stop worrying about what I do, obey the law and keep your puddy on a leash, in your own yard, so she doesn't disappear.

I once caught a car thief in the act. I knew the car because I had sold it to the guy that was victimized, and called the police right then. I saw the arresting officer later on and he said it was sure conviction. Next time I saw the officer he told me the case had been dropped. He had inquired about it and was told by detectives to mind his own business. This was also a federal case because viin numbers had been swapped. The thief had been arrested numerous times for auto theft. Luckily for all of us, the car thief recently croaked, but my point is that Hawaii justice is no justice at all.

They don't carve canoes at Pokai anymore. They recently closed that area of Pokai down, or opened it, according to how you look at it.The rash rumors were here long before the problem in Japan. Sometimes after a heavy perio dof rain there may be runoff with some chemicals in it, but no testing ever finds anything. I have a friend that won't go near the water because, "It's all contaminated." He's one of the tin-foil hat crowd that thinks black people are an alien/animal animal experiment gone wrong.

Not at Pokai. Too many people there that would beat their asses to a pulp. That's where we take our kids to swim.
