They needed to have bases to protect Japan from US navel threats from vessels AT PEARL HARBOR. You forget that aerial warfare was only 25 years old when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. War was still dominated by naval and infantry forces, the biggest and first threat being from naval cannon fire off shore.
You really are like a naive 18 year old college freshman. You think you know more than you do, and don't know how much you don't know, so you do research on Wikipedia.
Someone like you could get a top flight job in the food service or housekeeping industries.

Dumping hotel TV's? Hahahaha, I know the guy that did it, He's a friend of mine! Actually, he supposedly gave a trailer-load of the tv's away to a guy that was going to sell them, but he was charged for it. He's still pissed about it, LOLOLOLOL.

How does your answer have anything to do with my question? "They needed to have bases to protect Japan from US navel threats" I didn't know USA was the aggressor in the Pacific in ww2? You are saying the threat was not Japan but the US? You really are like a naive 8 year old 1st grader. Or is it the meth talking?

You have trouble connecting knowledge dots.
Imperial Japan was in the middle of Asian Empire building, and the US had placed embargoes, including oil and steel, on Japan. The US demanded a withdrawal from Indochina and China. Instead, Japan attacked in order to cripple the US fleet to forestall an invasion from the US, an attack that WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IN HAWAII IF NOT FOR THE BAYONET CONSTITUTION WHICH FORCED KALAKAUA TO GIVE PEARL HARBOR TO THE US. Get it? To Japan, the US was the aggressor toward their intentions in Asia.
You really have shot off your mouth before knowing much of the details, haven't you?
Whatever history book you learned out of is probably not at fault. You probably didn't bother to read much of it, and instead watched "Pearl Harbor" and "Battleship" to get a sense of naval history.
Do you now see how your ignorance of history is probably a dangerous thing if you ever get a job higher than flipping burgers? Also, although it is your right, please don't vote. Preserving democracy through exercising the right to vote involves a sense of context, which you appear not to have.
Judge the ignorant "natives" all you want. Just know that many are clearly not as ignorant as you, bigot.

I'm not going to argue too much history or what you are since it doesn't really matter now. That was then, and can't be changed. What can change today is the fact that life is short, not real smart to live it with a grudge that had nothing to do with your life. I don't cry about my ancestors land in Europe. But here is the truth about Pearl: In 1875 the United States and Hawaii formed a reciprocal trade agreeement. This later led to the USA's right to establish the naval base, Pearl Harbor. Yes, once again your freaking ancestors made a bad agreement....LOL. Whats done is done. There aren't very many full blooded Hawaiians anymore. If we give the Hawaiians back their land then we would have to give back the land to the Indians & everyone else that was here before us that are all dead & gone now.

These kinds of sentiments are bigotry, which is here and now based on your ignorance and silly notion that the past is the past.
It's not about arguing history. It's about your arrogance judging without knowing history that is ongoing and present in your black little heart.

girl you got that right! Samoan-poynesian women are evidence that the theory of evolution is factual!

Do you actually think there is a chance for the Sandwich islands to be a separate nation? Too Late, sorry. You keep wanting to argue the word, "bigot". That's boring. NO thanks!

Surely you cannot believe that any Hawaiians would have survived a Japanese occupation. Island peoples were considered as nothing more than bayonet practice wherever and whenever located. Talk to people from the P.I, Figi, Guam and places like it and you'll rethink your position. The Japanese were and are the most racist people on Earth. They've only stopped slaughtering people because we fried them into submission.

The point is that Japan had no interest in Hawaii. Their interest was in crippling the US Navy.
History is too complicated so people tend to ignore facts.
But the fact remains: No US takeover of Pearl during the 1800s, no attack from the Japanese in 1941. Simple.

Then why did the Japanese take interest in Micronesia and Midway...Japan would have captured Hawaii to show it's force to the West even if the Sandwich islands were still a nation of Kings and Queens and the lowlifes. No US takeover of Pearl during the 1800s, an attack from the Japanese sooner or later.

Facts are, be mad at your ancestors and live the rest of your life angry and mad at the world or enjoy where you live, feel lucky where you live and make the best of it.

Holy crap. You really are an historical ignoramus. THEY TOOK PACIFIC ISLANDS AFTER THEY STARTED WWII. AFTER. They were forming a naval blockade to insulate Asia from British and US forces. Besides Pearl, they also raided US and British air bases in the Philippines and Hong Kong
Japanese believed through their axis with Germany and Italy, they could displace the US as the main world power.
This is kind of basic history. The vast body of things you apparently DON'T know should alarm you.
But I'm sure it won't. You deeply believe the past is unimportant.

Ironically, your ignorance illustrates why it is not.

The Japanese fleet had ground forces on ships ready to invade Hawaii. The admiral just held them back because the carriers weren't destroyed. The historians have now proved that the Japanese fully intended to land in California and use nuclear weapons to clear their way. It was only a miracle that we fried them first. Our bombs were made using the very uranium that we got off the captured sub enroute to Japan from Germany. Bullshyt they only wanted to fend us off.

The 1st attack on Guam was at 08:27 AM on 8 December 1941. One day after Pearl harbor. Figure it out genius! Do you think it was planned? But what matters is that no matter if US or the King or Queen was in Hawaii, it would have been worse for the sandwich islands if no US there. Most likely you would be half Japanese right now.
