I went to Lowe's and Home Depot there in Honolulu....the paver sand is there and it is cheap. 3/4 inch minus for the base and washed cement sand for the screeding and leveling...pavers there as well. average a buck each.

...this total job you see here is about $900...

paver sand is cheap...and the pavers are about $500. Rent the compactor...so double that cost for an area twice that size, and you are good to go.

No more cracks. Lowes materials.

I have done 4 already. More to come but will wait until next year or the next. It takes 3 days to get one done, up to 6 on a big job. But is well worth it. No more concrete for me. This is far superior to it, and is 4 times stronger, and no cracks.

They are definitely more appealing than concrete. Do you use the same company each time? Do you have to apply ground termite treatment before they go down? It is required in Hawaii under concrete. I showed your link to my wife this morning and of course now she wants to do it in the back where I'm planning on pouring a patio slab.

yes, but I now go around the company and contract direct with the best guys in our area that work for many other companies. He has done the work, I have filmed it and watched it all... so now I just call him up and the trucks, bobcats start rolling in with the pavers. They are great! For a driveway you have to use thicker pavers...for a patio you can use the pavers at Lowes...take your wife there and look at the 6x9" pavers for about $1.20 each. You can do this work yourself...they have some new underlays that make it a snap to do...not much digging at all...the full display is at Lowe's...it is called the Brock paving method. You can probably google it if it is on there. I would definitely use it on a patio. No in CA no termite stuff, but we do install a weed barrier under the base 2 material. Let me know what you think of the Lowe's stuff if you decide to look at it.

JB...they also have 6x6 squares that match into the 6x9 rectangles. That picture I sent has all 6x9's. Once you cove them with polymeric sand and spray them you are all set.

They're getting ready for Michelle's daily trips to Red Lobster and I'm not kidding! Ought to make those windward commuters an townies happy, shouldn't it? I hear Her Blackness wants a private H-4 built as a direct route through the mountains, and wants it to be coated with cherry blossoms every day, and the DNC approves!

Funny, it took me a few days to remember what/who this escort training was all about. It was on the traffic report the day of the Makaha water pipe event. I was getting phone calls at 5 am about miles of traffic in/out of Makaha backed up. lol

Maybe she can intervene on our behalf and get KoleKole opened up so we can head to North Shore for the margarita bar advertised on the radio constantly.
