Mr.Takashima's claim that the question birthplace of Obama is some sort of Republican conspiracy illustrates the shallow thinking process that has led this state to a one party government with little productive discourse for alternatives to the status quo.
How, may I ask, do you know what the truth is? Have you seen the certificate that has all the pertinent data to give "truth" to the claim?
Or do you "trust" someone else, like a local politician, newspaper editor or government bureaucrat to tell you what "truth" is?
It is as very simple question that goes unanswered and unverified until such time that the document is produced for the general public to see for themselves.
And that is the truth. As it says on the dollar bill, In God We Trust!

Rae Watanabe's letter displays good intentioned scoldings for us that defend OUR First Amendment Right to Free Speech and Expression.
Here admonishment that unpopular speech exposes a particular group to being unsafe really is advocating the suppression of our fundamental right to free speech.
It is a bogie man argument designed to have a chilling effect on our ability to voice a disdain for a particular set of life style many find offensive, if not outright disgusting.
If you are a man subject to the unwanted advances of a mahu, nothing could be worse at that moment.
Coach Mac demonstrated a spineless character when he caved. But his retreat did a dis-service to ALL who seek to enjoy the blessings that our Forefathers of this great nation bestowed upon us all: The Freedom to Think Free Thoughts and to Express those Thoughts, unfettered and unhindered by a shifting mob mentality or, as in this case, catering and placating to a lifestyle many find abhorent.

When coach Mac goofs up, he gets punished. When the CEO of AIG,and Goldman Saks goof up, they get a big, bad bonus paid with taxpayers money. What a country.

I wasn't particularly interested in the "birthers" concerns. However, the mainstream media has used so much time on this that I now want to see the actual birth certificate.
Our national tv news shows are increasingly becoming a one trick pony joke.

Everyone is so picky on words these days. What ever happened to our childhood motto of, "sticks and stones may brake my bones, but names will never hurt me?" University of Hawaii football coach Greg McMackin gave a press conference and referred to a dance the opposing team of Notre Dame did as a F-------- dance.(The "F" word being a derogatory term for homosexual.)
Psychiatrists will tell my you that many homophobic people will openly act macho and pretend to not like homosexuals when in ironic contrast they are closet ridden homosexuals themselves.?
The coach needs to step down, after crying over this at a nationally televised press conference, he will not be the "butt"( no pun intended) of many jokes and teasing from opposing teams this coming football season.
On another note with young brothers increasing freight another 13%, sure wish the Superferry were here, and no Superferry is not a derogatory term...

Mr. Takashima et al, I am not what you would call a "birther," but it's a constitutional requirement for a presidential contender to show a birth certificate. I believe a civil service job requires that also.
The on line "proof" you claim is a certificate of live birth. Try applying for a passport using that.
If Obama wished to expose the birthers for the misguided jokes you say they are, then he provide the real one.
Obama has not made public his education grade history, his doctoral thesis, nothing.

The requirement is a certified copy of a birth certificate, not the actual original which is likely recorded in a ledger book.
The only way to show the actual original would be to rip it out of the book. Duh!
Certified copies are legal copies such as the President's and still the nutcases don't have a clue.

Mr. Gary Takashima,
I guess maybe you have forgotten or choose to ignore the fact that Democrats, The Media, and the far left spent 8 years spewing all kinds of hate at President Bush. Maybe the birthers are just hand a little bit back. I don't know or care where Obama was born but sincerely hope that we can dump him after his first temm so he can't continue to spend my Great Grandchildren into bankruptcy.

Well, you're the clueless one.
Take the time to learn the difference between a certificate of live birth and a real birth certificate as I have and you have, assuming of course you were born and not hatched.
