BAN THE FIREWORKS

All the ignorant people calling law abiding citzens whiners. You're the whiners because you want to play with your stupid firework BOMBS!!! Grow up, you're not a kid anymore. We have a right too. I vote and pay taxes like most people do. It's those low lifes that are doing this and they think it's fun. And please, don't tell me to go back to the mailand. I was born and raised here and I'm sick of tired of this loud noises going off during the early morning hours. Remember, we need to keep contacting our legislators about banning illegal fireworks. Who knows, the next time you hear a "boom" it may be the real bomb.

To everyone whining about the fireworks, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
I think there's a simple answer to this - acts or processes that lead to exceedance of Federal Air Quality Standards are illegal and punishable by law. The fact that the State knowingly allows the air quality to exceed legal limits means that the State is knowingly violating Federal Air Quality Standards. Bring a class action lawsuit against the State based on this willful violation and I will bet you a law banning private fireworks will pass immediately.

I tried finding them and the little sissies hide when a vehicle approaches. This is before new years eve, impossible to even leave home that night.
A few have put their photos (self) on utube, shows the mentality we are dealing with.
Let's stop being the silent majority.

I love your names. They are polar opposites. The opposite of Windward is Leeward and the opposite of Wahine is Lolo!

Make the crime severe. If caught dealing it is a felony with mandatory jail term of 1 year minimum.

The consequences must be severe.

I hear the dock workers are already bringing in the fireworks now and stocking up. I wonder if this is true or not. thats the word on the streets.

If they kept it to six or seven hours on just those two days then I agree. Unfortunately they start a month earlier and continue past the "holiday".

I had bans also but these people are doing it to themselves by going overboard.

Thank you. Some very helpful tips. Also, write your state legislators, and let your feelings be known. Their addresses are on the Hawaii State Legislature website. Because so much of the fireworks smuggling and use are federal offenses and pose a significant security risk, contact the FBI, Homeland Security, etc. if it looks like the legislators aren't moving in the right direction. Get petitions together, send emails to your friends who might be willing to help out. I wonder if the Americans With Disabilities Act can be brought into play. People with limited breathing or with mobility problems end up being trapped in homes that may go up in smoke, like that poor elderly man in Manoa (I think) several years ago. Veterans with PTSD are probably traumatized by the bombing noises. Contact major news outlets (like CNN, MSNBC, etc.) and have them investigate the problems. We need to let the criminals know we are NOT going to back down and go away.

You know... the more you try to regulate things... the more things people want to regulate. Same goes for banning.

That's what happens when youve got Democrats in charge.

Democrats arent happy unless they're controlling your lives and stealing your money.

Seriously.

Conservatives firmly believe you should be able to keep the money youve earned whereas liberals believe it should be taken from you and redistributed by the government to others.

Conservatives believe in personal freedom and the right to choose whereas liberals believe youre too stupid to make your own decisions the government needs to make decisions for you.
