My mom was involved with this when we returned from overseas in 1979--perhaps she began delivering in 1980 or soon thereafter. Her grandkids were always actively involved, and Mom felt she was continuing her giving to a world that had given so much to her. She's since (recently) passed away, and spent her last several years in Seattle, but the Meals On Wheels was a very great part of our lives when we returned to Hawaii after overseas.
Thanks to all those who have contributed time and $ over the years--Mom was one of those and we all knew then, as we do now, that she made a difference.
Mahalo to a great service.
