Anti-rail sentiment dominates poll results

The City and County of Honolulu's plan for a 20-mile commuter rail project stretching from Kapolei to Ala Moana is quickly losing public support, if first-day results of a PBN online survey are any indication.

The rail was a good idea. Naming it after Obama was what killed my interest. Not even the rocks under the rail should deserve being named so lowly.

They'll want KING OBAMA'S statue in front of Iolani palace next, instead of that other guy. Obama discovered Hawaii, ya know, a million years ago. Just ask any liberal you run into.

You see, this is how stupid you people are...when it's already 99.99% a done deal..then you people disagree. Not surprised you came in LAST PLACE.

People like you move here for various reasons. It could be that you found the weather obliging, or when you first visited the aloha spirit hooked you. Now that you are here for a few years you noticed that the liberals are in control and you don't like it.So now you have undertaken a vandetta to try and change it. You are wasting your time. Politics in Hawaii took many years to firmly establish itself and your everyday posting of your displeasure will not change it. Since you know this you have now changed directions and have started to attack the locals with many disrespectful posted comments. Life in Hawaii for those that were born here and others that have integrated nicely this is a great place to live. For a few transplanted people like you that have failed to accept Hawaii for what it is there is always the option of leaving. Remember ALOHA means hello and goodbye.

What vote? I thought I was betting in a private booth on a betting slip on who would come in last. Darn that was voting?

This rail thing was shoved thru much like the health care bill. Lies, threats and middle of the night deals. Anybody who spoke against hanneman in meetings was escorted out.

Ever hear hanneman say you voted for it???
Far from the truth. It was not a yes or no vote, it was confused deal like preferring steel rail over light rail. NOT DO YOU WANT IT, YES OR NO.

Unions pushed for it strongly and will benefit as they will get their cut from mainland workers waiting to come here for rail jobs. Contractor has been recruiting on mainland for several years.

We can say goodbye to the patches of green we see along the H1, parks, anything that looks nice along Leeward coast and look forward to more concrete and ugly tract homes development.
Hopefully those who stand to lose homes and businesses when bulldozers are unloaded will drive thru Waipahu where trees and landscaping is being shoved over at a rapid rate.

20,000 more homes planned for Ewa Beach in the very near future, and no-one asks where is the water?

That is because we all know it is being slowly and quietly sold to China.
