Haven't they got the message yet that children should not ride in the front seat of cars? It has been reiterated again and again. Sounds like it is the Parent's fault.

Mommy neglected to have the child sit in the back seat with a booster seat..This is common sense. Recently this year a child who fell asleep and almost prone with the seat belt covering her neck was decapitated in a major fender bender...the only fatality.

Come on now,any where your drive is dangerest. That child should of been in the back side. When you rent a car it even say children should not ride in the front because the air bag could cause injury or death. Wake up parent read the signs and notation in your cars. They are there for a purpose. I'm sorry for your lose but for the rest of you parents wake up and read and understand. Children in the back side with a bootser seat and strap in. Got it!!!!!!!!!!

The road is just a long stretch of highway. It is the drivers that make it unsafe if they start passing cars like idiots. They will only get to the next slow car faster. Why isn't Mooney in jail for negligent homicide?

Wait! Why don't you name the engineer(s) who designed the highway and the contractor(s) who built the highway. Oh, and you can also name the parents of the other driver who concieved and raised her...come on, enough already!

I feel for the family and their loss, but really, children AREN'T SUPPOSED TO RIDE IN THE FRONT SEATS OF CARS....HELLO MOM & DAD! He should have been sitting in a booster seat that was secured in the back seat! Sheesh, blame the lady who caused the accident, not the rental agency or the car manufacturer.

Common sense may have prevented this from happening.

Why not sue the driver of Moulton's car, too... oh wait, Moulton was the driver.
Of course they have suffered the loss of their son but to blame everyone else? Shame, shame on them. The accident was caused by the other vehicle crossing into their lane. The lawsuits nowadays are ridiculous!

Mooney was named in the lawsuit but probably carried only the minimum insurance.

Nearly everyone is named in the beginning because plaintiff's attorneys generally cast a wide net to capture as many deep pockets as possible. Remember, they work on a contingency basis.

Lawyers are money hungry sharks!!! However, whether or not the child was in the front seat or back makes no differece by looking at the end result of the vehicle. Bless this child whose life was taken so early.

We have not heard of anything on this lawsuit and the County of Maui should be filing a criminal lawsuit against Brittney Mooney. With the many cell calls about her wreckless driving over the Pali that should be enough to convict her of manslaughter or it should be murder.

So you condone wreckless driving and speeding. Brittney was swerving and cutting in and out of cars over the pali and kept this up on Honoapiilani Highway as well with no regard to anyone's life. She even apologized to Susan in the ambulance since they were both in the same one. Leave the grieving parents out of it - Susan was driving safely on her side, Brittney was NOT!

Child who died was an awesome 8 year old boy - you have no heart! Blame only Brittney for her wreckless regard for other's lives and into her own cell phone talking and speeding and cutting in and out of traffic on pali and continuing on highway. Accident was completely her fault. Death would not have occurred if she did not hit Susan and split her own car in two.
