History always repeats it self. Rome was the greatest country on this earth and failed within its self and Israel stood fast. America presently the second strongest nation in the world and losing their grip cause of it liberal life style and Israel still number one. Israel is the smallest nation in this world and America should learn from them. Take no bull from the rest of the world!

I'm with the Vietnamvet. I was born/raised in Wahiawa and will always remember the big white cross on the mountain where the Japanese planes passed thru when they attacked Hawaii. To me it symbolized a memorial for all the lives that were lost at Pearl Harbor and all the other military bases that day. What a bunch of BS having it removed because it was insulting to the small majority of people who only care about themselves. Get a life ACLU!

Of course the Court was correct to determine the cross was a blatant and obvious violation of the First Amendment.
Just imagine the decades the rest of us had to put up with this indignity.

We also need a ban on those that come to my home on Saturdays trying to give out their pamphlets even when I tell them they're not welcome or wanted. It's just plain disturbing and an insult.

On the right hand side of the Pearl Harbor main gate,There is building with the David Star mount on in the front of that building,you can see that David Star from both side of Kam Highway.Those Jews need to re-adjust their thinking.....

Ban all religious and memorial icons, fixures and physical manifestations. Discontinue all religious and memorial marks in time. Destroy all materials that pertain to any and all religious and memorial sects. Pass legislation to take everyone's right to any and all freedoms. And last, but not least, destroy all the various houses of worship and memorial thoughts . While we're at it. Let's imprison, torture, maim and execute every relious order that exist today. That includes the idea for any memorials and dedications. Let's teach them about the new world order and how it should be. Let's sterilize this world, not only nationally, but internationally of all these terrible eye sores that plague our mind, body and our everyday existence. If small pockets of insurgencies should erupt. Let's seek them out and eliminate these scum from the face of the earth. So Very Sad!? So Very, Very Sad!?! I was stationed at Schofield Barracks and I climed the metal cross in 1959. My question is why it says the cross was built in 1962. Will you please respond to my question.

Yeah, if not for America, Israel would not exist! Besides, Israel is NOT number one, for China could wipe them out anytime it wishes so and will probably do it if the Israelis threaten them enough!

Good, they took that eyesore out, religious artifacts do not belong with the State of affairs, God is a false BS and only for the weak and lazy ones who refuse to think for themselves!

An intolerant move on a historical monument...briefly reread your history on this important ideal.

Some of the first colonists of the nation for which the Constitution was written had been seeking to escape religious persecution.

The constitutions of several of the states prohibited public support of religion and some did explicitly support or demand adherence to Christianity.

Point being, the many varying sects of Christianity in America required that it to be fair to all, so that there could be preference to none.

It would have been disgraceful for anyone to wish to leave the United States because of religious persecution.

So the authors decided it best to keep the government out of religion.

This is not to say that the United States was not or is not a religious nation.

Religion plays a big role in the everyday life of Americans, then and now.

But what the authors were striving for is tolerance...

No tolerance was shown to the cross...this is the modern day America that would not exist if not for so called "primitive" America...think about that for a bit then read the amendment itself, there is not law involved in this action on the monument but intolerance is for sure.

Amendment 1.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The ACLU is not a friend of freedom!

Keep your mind and eyes open...freedom is not free.

To briefly quote Thomas Jefferson....

"When the People fear their Government, there is Tyranny.
When the Government fears the People, there is Liberty."

One reference the ACLU will always do is use Thomas Jefferson's quote(s), but only in part and always leave some out...why might that be, so as to take the right of the American people to freely exercise their God given right of freedom without government interference that's why...Tyranny is their real but unstated goal for modern America.

Amendment 1. prohibits the government interference with the free expression of the American people but stops the government as an entity from establishing a particular religion for that government!

They use his quote "the separation of church and state" backwards on purpose for the main purpose of erasing it in your lives, eventually they will target all religions, they're just getting starting with Christianity!

Jefferson wrote a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802 to answer a letter from them written in October 1801.

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man & his god, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between church and state."

So in your thinking; Christians are the only ones who are required to be tolerant ( they even wrote it into the Constitution in Amendment 1.) so no other faith believes that, what does that tell you about other faiths, especially the Jihadies of the middle east?

Those are probably Jehovah's Witnesses, they tend not to listen when you say "not interested" but they are not Christians in the historical view although they think they are, they bring a different belief system all together with some of the same terms is all.

ACLU & Political correctness! Now that it (Cross) is down, We have allowed history to be changed! Where in the world are the protesters? Allowing sicknesses to cross the border unchecked! NOT protecting its people BUT WE ARE, putting our troops in other countries AND not on our own borders! We MUST take care of our own and get healthy BEFORE we obligate ourselves in OTHER countries. Constitution should NEVER be changed just because of a change in our thinking. If we change it then what good is it? It IS and WAS penned by forefathers who had a reason and it has worked so far.
